Enhancements in JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion 2021 Public Beta 3
The following is a list of improvements made between Public Beta 2 and
Public Beta 3. Note that while many customer-reported enhancements are
included
in this release, the following is a list of more notable changes. Enhancements in JAWS 2021 and Fusion 2021 Public Beta 3
list of 29 items • Added the ability for Sharky to tell you a joke, currently only available in the English Version and for JAWS. Coming soon to other languages. • Removed volume change announcements that some users reported hearing in Public Beta 2 when using certain keyboards and headsets with multimedia controls. • In response to customer feedback, we have moved the link to open Convenient OCR results directly in Word to the bottom of the results window rather than the top to make it less distracting. • For Voice Assistant in the German Version of JAWS and ZoomText, the word "hey" has been added to the wake words Sharky and Zoomy. Therefore, you now open Voice Assistant by saying "Hey Sharky" or "Hey Zoomy." • Improved the results returned for Voice Assistant in German, which was based on customer feedback. • Resolved a problem seen in Notepad where the flashing cursor on a braille display was blinking faster than normal after selecting all text in a short document. This also made it difficult to read flash messages on the display. • Updated Voice Assistant so you can now say "settings center" or "quick settings" to access those utilities. • Resolved a reported issue when using the new Braille Panning feature which helps avoid blank spaces on the display. When moving in HTML or the Virtual buffer, there were certain edit controls in the Chrome and Edge browsers where text was not being displayed as expected when panning. • Resolved a reported issue in Outlook where JAWS was not echoing text as expected when typing in the body of a new message with Typing Echo set to Words. • Removed the announcement of Tutor Messages in Microsoft Office Ribbons as they were very verbose when attempting to navigate. • When opening a message in Outlook, resolved a reported issue where JAWS would not always start reading from the top if it has previously been opened. It would often start reading from the previous location where you stopped reading the last time. • Resolved an issue in MS Mail where JAWS was reporting list start and end info for each item in a list. • Users can now use Voice Assistant to Toggle certain features of JAWS and Fusion. Screen Shade, Audio Ducking, Speech on Demand, and Virtual PC Cursor can all be toggled if you say the word toggle, followed by the feature. And in the December Update of 2021, we will make it so you can just say the name of the feature, and it will toggle the state and avoid the need for the word toggle. • Resolved issues for the Picture Smart Feature where the "more results" link in the Results Viewer, was not properly getting more results and displaying them as expected. • Updated the Help for Voice Assistant by removing and adding some commands for the current update. • Resolved an issue when selecting all text (CTRL+A) in a large Word document. This action would cause JAWS to hang for several seconds. • Resolved a reported issue where exporting your Settings, could cause instability as you navigated the dialogs while using this feature in JAWS. • Resolved an issue where JAWS would not remain in Forms Mode, while trying to compose email messages in OE Classic. • Resolved several issues related to migrating settings from previous versions of JAWS to JAWS 2021. • Resolved issues for customers reporting that JAWS did not recognize ScaleRichView controls used in certain editors. This custom window class will be recognized by default in JAWS and Fusion. • Resolved an issue reported where braille was not tracking to the Navigation Bar in Outlook 365 or Outlook 2016 when pressing F6. • Additional User Settings are collected when running the FS Support Tool. This will help Technical Support to gather all the relevant data to help solve customer issues. • JAWS would leave Forms Mode and the Virtual Cursor would be on when creating an email in Thunderbird Email. This occurred when navigating with arrow keys. • Resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading the Auto Complete options in the Chrome Address bar. • Increased the size of the Speech History Buffer to allow for 500 strings rather than just 50 when you press INSERT+SPACE, H to review the most recent strings sent to the synthesizer. • The feature "Keyboard Lock" has been added to JAWS Command Search. To activate it, press INSERT+SPACE, L. This locks the keyboard and only allows informational keystrokes to be used. To find the keystroke using JAWS Command Search, type the word "lock." • Resolved reported issues with early public beta versions of 2021 where third-party scripts were not compiling. This was an issue when using WordPerfect and Quattro Pro. • Updated braille drivers provided by Papenmeire. • Resolved reported issue in Power Point 365 in the Notes Area of a slide where JAWS was saying graphic while navigating text in the note. list end Enhancements in Fusion 2021 Public Beta 3

This occurred if you first selected text, and then started typing to replace it. • Resolved an issue where the Focus highlight is not tracking in Office Ribbons when JAWS Virtual Ribbon is enabled. • Resolved an issue where Braille Viewer and Text Viewer were not remaining persistent and restarting after rebooting. list of 4 items • Resolved an issue in Mozilla Firefox 82 where ZoomText Focus Enhancement was failing to track as you read while navigating in Firefox. • Resolved a Voice Assistant issue when trying to increase or decrease magnification to a Fractional Level. For example, asking Zoomy to set Magnification to 1.2, resulted in getting 12X. the decimal point was being excluded. • Resolved an issue where ZoomText speech would not stop when saying a Voice Assistant command. The feature was designed to interrupt speech. • Resolved an issue in the Outlook Inbox when your Windows Display Setting Zoom Level is higher than 100%, and you navigate the inbox. What I was referring to are websites in general that give instructions for the general public. For example, I was trying to find a reliable source to learn how to prepare my iPhone for the upgrade to IOS 14, but didn't see Apple among the list of search results. But I'm glad you mentioned Accessibility Central info.

Does it have anything to do with Tools for all add-ons, Update all add ons automatically?
Press: alt t, arrow down to add ons, tab till you reach Tools for add ons, press that button, arrow down to Set all add ons to update automatically. This is what I did and I haven't had any further trouble, although, I had been. I'm not sure this is it, but I haven't seen it mentioned, so I thought I'd make a little noise. john S

Joe, this is going to have to be a collaborative effort due to a couple of complications. SpaceSniffer is able to generate a text report, but believe it or not, it's entirely accessible until you hit the screen where you generate it. I can't find any way to activate the Export button on that page with a screen reader.
TreeSize Free generates an exported PDF report, which most don't like, but I just found that its actual space analysis report in the program appears to be accessible, so you can go down through it line by line there once its done the scan. Here's what I've put together as the "tutorial starter" and you'll need to give me feedback regarding what happens after the report is up and you've attempted to read through it to see what's hogging the space. It could go perfectly smoothly or you could hit bumps. It's your job to report back about that. ----------------------------------- TreeSize Free Download Page – You can select either the installable version or portable version from the dropdown on that page. Either will get the information you need. There is also a cluster of 3 radio buttons to indicate the region of the world for which you’re downloading: North America/Europe/Other, followed by the Download Button. This tutorial will presume you’ve downloaded the portable version (ZIP format) and have already unzipped it to the folder from which you wish to run the program and are sitting in that folder. 1. Fire up TreeSizeFree.exe. 2. Hit ALT+S,D [Scan Tab/Ribbon, Select Directory], you will then be presented with your drive options as well as a Select Directory to Scan option at the end of the submenu. Pick what’s appropriate for what you’re doing. I will choose a directory for the rest of this tutorial, and that directory will end up being C:\Program Files (x86)\NVDA. If you use the directory option you will be presented with a typical File Explorer navigation dialog to select the folder you want. You can, of course, type out the path in the Folder edit box if you know it. The choice is yours. As soon as you've selected/typed a folder hit the Select Folder button and the scan begins. 3. If you keep focus on the TreeSizeFree window it will begin reading out the result of its analysis when it finishes, and for folder that will be very quickly. What starts the report is the folder or drive level you chose to scan. OK, this is a bit convoluted on the web page, but here is what you do. 1. Use the address (for easier access) gamepass.nfl.com. This takes you right to the listing of games. 2. The page is haphazzardly constructed so find the 2020 season and week 8. Click on the week 8 link. 3. After a bunch of listings of previous years and games, you should come to the listings for week 8. 4. Sloly read over the listings line by line (they are abbreviation so you will have to listen closely and maybe if you're not sure use character navigation to determine for sure which listing you are looking at. 5. Under each listing, there is a listen link. Click on this link. 6. Again you are presented with a haphazard screen and you must move down to the listing of radio broadcast links. They seem to include the TV reference across all pages and sub pages for Game Pass. In any case, you should see the listings in abbreviated form again, but this time, there is a combo box containing the home and away items. 7. Highlight this combo box and switch to edit mode NVDA insert + space bar or the JAWS equivalent of turning off the PC cursor. 8. Use up and down arrows to select either home or away and press enter. 9. I notice that under the combo box, there are a group of controls and one of them is play. But as soon as I chose the home/away item in the combo box, the stream started playing without any further action. In this combo box, unlike the iPhone app, there are only two choices: home and away. In the iPhone app, which has a totally different construction, there are 4 buttons for each game: two for home and away English and two for home and away Spanish. I guess since your chosen language is English for the web version of this interface, the site assumes you only want the English links. Probably, if you chose Spanish as your default language when you signed up, the two choices would be the Spanish feeds--but this is just a guess on my part. In conclusion, the site though clumsy--just as is the iPhone app--is useable once you get used to it. Good luck.

Memory is designated as, for example PC4-21300 or PC3-12800, but both in SODIMM (laptop) form factor are two different memory types. If you want the correct match for your machine, and the Crucial system scan shows PC3-12800, then that's the one you should buy, no matter what brand you do buy. PC4 descriptions will also generally contain DDR4 somewhere and PC3 generally contain DDR3 or DDR3L. The easiest thing to pay attention to is the PCx-99999 part, as it encapsulates pretty much everything with the exception of the form factor, which will be SODIMM for laptop memory or UDIMM or DRAM or SDRAM for desktop memory.
You will sometimes get multiple PCx-99999 options, and the one with the highest number in the 99999 part after the PCx number is the fastest among those. It is not unusual for computer manufacturers to use memory that is not the fastest that a given motherboard can support, both for cost and availability reasons. Sometimes the actual memory speed will not matter all that much, anyway, in average use. I know that with the new iPhone's there is no charging block included but rather just a lighting to USB C cable. My question is if anyone know if you can use an older lighting to USB cable as in the past or do you need to make sure that you have a type C charger before ordering.

I would suggest using a disk space analysis tool to get a really clear picture of what's being stored where. If you have any interest in doing that, I will check if SpaceSniffer or TreeSizeFree (which are free, and SpaceSniffer can produce a very nice text based report) is accessible. But I won't slog through that unless I know you're interested. There is no way that NVDA itself has created an 80GB folder. I remember creating a portable version of the application when I reloaded the app on that particular laptop, but that should not create bulk over 80 gigs. Hello Brian I forgot to mention that I am using JAWS, so when I activate the JAWS cursor in properties and read line by line from the bottom there are two lines, each showing a different disk size. I wonder if it is a JAWS issue. Regards Fanus

Just for laughs, I checked my own installation of NVDA on a Win 10 System, up to date with all Windows and NVDA updates. Total space on this Machine was 125 MB, and not GB. Not sure why yours is claiming 80 Gigabits of valuable HD space. Grumpy Dave
