Re: Alexa App For iPhone Now Requires CAPTCHA for Log-in

Hi Ron,

I encountered the captcha request when I deleted the Alexa app, to start anew bringing other Alexa online. I had no trouble understanding the series of numbers or entering the numbers. My problem was that the correct numbers entered wasn't recognized as being correct. After 7 attempts & frustration, I had my partner to enter the picture code for me. There has to be a simple to work with solution that websites & apps can use to make the log-in process less of a hassle for the blind & deaf-blindcommunity.

Accessible Email Marketing

Joe Orozco

Hi, does anyone have recommendations on accessible email marketing?
Mailerlite did not prove very accessible. I’m not having a ton of
success with MooSend, though much better than the former. I’ve also
started testing out MailChimp. I hear ConvertKit is supposed to be
good, though their pricing is a little rich for my blood. If anyone
has other suggestions, or suggestions on how to better work with the
listed services, please let me know. Thank you kindly in advance.

Hi Group,

I have a Victor Reader Second Generation Stream. I have lost the smaller of the two cables the one with the male USB micro connector and the female jack for inserting a USB Drive.

Are these devices commonly available on Amazon or some other site or do you have to get them from the over priced Humanware company itself?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Micro USB Cable Inquiry

I would try searching short cable for Victor reader stream second generation and that should bring up some results. It may be available cheaper from a different seller.
Hope this helps,

I recall he posted thme to a list in a zip file on dropbox.
Maybe this will jog someone's memory.

What screen-reader is being used? It isn't free, but the NVDA
training materials you purchase from NVDA developers may teach at
least something of Windows 10. Also, have you checked to see what Hadley

I found this link by the AFB:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKtAyaZhUhw ANd for office 2016
American foundation of the blind
If you put jaws, nvda, narrator, accessibility and than put
free tutorials for learning Win10 in youtube, videos do come up!

You can even include just the windows10 start menu in the mix, videos will come up. If you have a youtube to mp3 comverter, you can organize them for the needs of that student.

I think CathyAnne Murtha is still teaching a free windows 10 course or if not, I do not think it cost that much; she uses the zoom platform!

Cheers Heather

WordPress Guides for Blind Developers

Joe Orozco

Hi,

Can anyone point me to accessible guides for learning WordPress? I
have a hosted site, not on WordPress.com. I’ve already started adding
some pages and have downloaded some plugins to get going; however, I
know I could be a lot more proficient with some of the settings and
menus. I’m slowly moving over from Drupal, and although some of the
tasks are more intuitive, there is enough of a learning curve to make
me feel slow. I’m going to make my way through the standard WordPress
manual but just wondered if there were any guides written from the
perspective of a blind developer. I’m on the latest build of WordPress
5. Thanks for any help.
