Thanks for the info but do you mean press and release on the router and then press and release on the other device?

You should press the WPS button on the router first and then the WPS button on the device.  On a computer, you would press the WPS button on the router and then select the wireless network to which you want to connect.

Hello list
I notice that more wifi devices have wps buttons which I understand to be used to exchange settings to setup quickly. Is this feature usable by a blind person i.e. does one press and hold the wps button on both devices in for a couple of seconds or how does this feature work?

NVDA commands

Ann Parsons

Hi all,

I've gotten to chapter 11 in the NVDA tutorial, and it's on review mode. It says that if I press insert-7 on the numpad, I will get the previous line. I don't, I get 'no next review mode'. What am I doing wrong? That's what's listed in the commands file too. I'm puzzled. Please help.

Setting up iCloud Mail on the Braille Sense Polaris.

Debbie April Yuille

Hi All

How does one successfully go about setting up iCloud Mail on the Polaris. I’ve tried selecting the iCloud server and entering my user name, password and email address. Then when I go to check my inbox, I get an unknown network error message.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Partition Assistant Pro Accessibility

Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>

Hi All,

I posted the other day that Partition Assistant Professional was not accessible with Jaws, & well, I was most definitely, WRONG!  It was the version of Jaws that I was using, & maybe not the version, but I think it was just a bad install because Jaws 15 has never done me wrong like that, it was screwing up in other programs as well, so I installed Jaws 16, & now Partition Assistant Pro is accessible.  Sorry for that bad post.

Take care.  Mike.  Go Dodgers!

It's probably easier and faster to hold the Windows key and type r.  Then type sndvol and press enter.  I am giving the command if you are using Windows 7 and higher, maybe Vista as well.  If you are using XP, the command is sndvol32.  I want to change the main volume level on my computer often, at times three or five or more times a day because of different levels of audio recordings I listen to.  I leave the volume window opened for that reason and alt tab to it instead of repeatedly opening and closing it.

Hi.

Yes, this is the way I do to increase and decrease the volume of speech.
But I was convinced that jaws have a shortcut command for the purpose.
It would be much more quickly.
My laptop has no wheel of volume to increase and decrease the speech.

I agree Mario, I tried a while back to find a method of doing this. The
only of adjusting the volume of Jaws by itself is to go to the Options
menu and select the Voices sub-menu, then the Adjust Voices settings.
There is a volume adjustment for Jaws in this wizard.

Hi there! This volume is controlled by your system. The best way to

Hi all,

You can get scanners that are thin and are around an hundred dollars,
but if you plan to use your scanner to scan books, then what you want
to do is spend a bit more and buy the best, the Plustek Book Edge
Scanner 3900. They may be up to model 4000, but not sure. It will
cost about $250.00 give or take.

Troy,

If it is not already installed on your computer, you can go to the hp support website, support.hp.com, and download the hp Print and Scan Doctor software. This utility finds and fixes problems with your printer, and The hp Printer Assistant will help you to connect the printer to your computer. The printer can be still connected to your network, but not to the computer, and these programs can help with that. If you cannot get it figured out. Hp does have an accessibility support group, and they will help you in getting it working again. Their phone number is: 877-656-7058, I am not sure of their hours.

    Hi all,

I have an hp 3830 wireless printer and twice in the past few days I've tried to send something to it to print from my laptop and it hasn't worked.  It has always worked before and I haven't changed anything, and the strange thing is that my mom can send something from her laptop and it works.  The only difference is that I'm approximately 20 feet away from the printer and my mom is only 3 or 4 feet away.  I'm also in a different room but that has never mattered before.

When I tried a few days ago I think there was an error that showed up on the printer, but I don't remember what that error was and I just tried printing something a few minutes ago just before starting this message and there was no error.

Does anybody have any suggestions what I might need to do to print from my laptop again?

I wouldn't say most. Some keyboards do and some don't. Most laptops have
Fn key combinations for adjusting the system volume, but with desktops it
just depends. A multimedia keyboard will usually have dedicated volume
keys.

Mario,

I don't believe that this can be done. You can adjust the speech rate by
pressint Alt+Ctrl+Page Up or Page Down, but the volume of the synthesizer
cannot be adjusted bia the keyboard. Most keyboards have keys that adjust
the over all volume of the computer however.
