Most of the ones I've used require you to press 2 buttons, one to turn it on and get things going, the other to actually brew the coffee.

You shouldn't have to press a sequence of buttons, just a certain one. But since I don't know what one you have, I can't tell you which one. Pam.

Hi Group,

Sorry for the somewhat humorous subject line, but here's the deal. I got a Kuerig (fancy new-fangled in vogue coffee machine/maker/whatever) for Christmas. I have had a few sighted people try to instruct me as to its usage over the phone. Well I assembled the little staff or what you may call it into the area where the water is poured, put the pod in, put the water in the little compartment, pressed what I believe is the proper sequence of buttons to brew a large 16 ounce cup of coffee and 4 out of
5 times, nothing happens. Eventually, if I persist, I get a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

What could be going wrong? If anyone has this type of device, please advise the proper sequence of key presses or what other things a clind person might need to understand about the operation of this device.

Thanks in advance for help.

Ron, I had a similar experience to you. What I've found is after you
fill the machine with water and then press the top button to turn it
on, you need to wait a little bit for the water to heat up. Put the
k-cup in and close the clamp down and then press the bottom button to
start brewing the coffee. If nothing happens, wait a minute or so
then lift the clamp and then close the clamp and press the bottom
button again. You'll get the timing of it with practice.

Blaster

Re: Lenovo Laptops.

Gene

To clarify, I'm saying that I don't have the technical knowledge to discuss the chip speed and cache that would be the best buy for the money for a typical user. If you get too underpowered or undercached a chip, you likely won't be satisfied. I'm also saying that differences in brands, which chips offer faster performance and more cache, for example for the price, and which operate more cooly, if that matters, are things I don't have the knowledge to discuss along with the best specifications per brand.

It is my impression that this or that brand may have a slower chip speed, but that other technical differences may provide faster performance than a different brand with the same chip speed.. And how much such differences matter for the typical user in terms of performance per price is something I don't know.

You can try to start the laptop and after a while press this shortkey.

It can also be, that the laptop will ask to install windows and in this

What do you want to do?

I said yesterday that you would need a full path statement, but maybe you wouldn't. There are ways, I never looked into them to indicate where you want to get to by using the percent sign. I know about DOS but this question uses aspects of using a command line in the run dialog and I don't know details about that which may be useful or im;portant.

While in a spreadsheet if you press, Insert + V, to open quick settings there should be settings for this.  Or, while in a spreadsheet press, Insert + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard to open the Settings Center for this application and there are settings here as well.

Hi Group,

Sorry for the somewhat humorous subject line, but here's the deal. I got a Kuerig (fancy new-fangled in vogue coffee machine/maker/whatever) for Christmas.  I have had a few sighted people try to instruct me as to its usage over the phone.  Well I assembled the little staff or what you may call it into the area where the water is poured, put the pod in, put the water in the little compartment, pressed what I believe is the proper sequence of buttons to brew a large 16 ounce cup of coffee and 4 out of 5 times, nothing happens.  Eventually, if I persist, I get a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

What could be going wrong?  If anyone has this type of device, please advise the proper sequence of key presses or what other things a clind person might need to understand about the operation of this device.

Re: JAWS Skip Blank Lines

Mike B.

Hi Joe,

You can try this just to see if it helps.  Hold down the, Insert key, then press the, spacebar, to activate the layered keystroke feature then press the letter, Z.  This will temporarily bypass
your settings and put Jaws into it's factory default settings mode.  See if Jaws reads any better and if it does a setting change is the culprit.
This keystroke is a toggle so, press the key combination sequence again to go back
to your personal settings.

Stay safe and take care.  Mike.

Yeah, that's strange. The setting is properly set to skipping blank
