What  happening is when someone puts a file in my dropbox, for example, a mp3 it will not play when I vo space or space.

I have to go to sync, click local, leave the db window and come back in and then I can play. How can I set it up so it will play after vo spacing.

I don't know why you would have to use the bypass command. JAWS shouldn't
use control 2 for anything. It isn't a standard screen-reader command and I
found out now that Outlook uses it for create an appointment.

No, but are you using control 2? That would be a most unlikely command for
a screen-reader to use, particularly since it is used in some programs like
Windows Media Player to change where you are in the program.

Gene, Using NVDA, which I presume you used, did you have to do a bypass
command, I did for jaws.
I ask that because lol, someone spoke today and by the time I issued those
two keystrokes, they finished talking and I didn't catch the name.

The command is a Zoom command. it isn't a screen-reader command. A sighted
friend told me there is a visual way the program shows who is speaking.
Presumably, the underlying information the program uses for the visual
display is accessible to the screen-reader. The screen doesn't change
because sighted people already have the information. I assume the
screen-reader is made to speak by the program using whatever it uses to
force speech whenever an alert is spoken.

I forgot to ask since I am still trying to determine if this key stroke is
screen reader exclusive.
I have no one to test it on using NVDA but when using it in a meeting
earlier today at work using jaws latest, I had to evoke the bypass key then
press CTRL 2.
My coworkers who do not use any screen reader, it didn't work. Then again,
why would it, they don't need to hear who is talking, I suppose as they can
probably tell in another way?

Thanks to those who gave information. I tried control 2 in a test meeting
and it worked. I had looked at a list of shortcut keys in the past but
there are so many I thought it might be faster and easier to ask.

That's an important command for people to know. I often wonder who is
speaking in a meeting if I don't know the people or don't know them well.

Check your graphics verboscity setting in J18 then change it to the same in J2020 and maybe changing your graphics verboscity setting to, Labeled, if it hasn't been already will help.

Subject: [TechTalk] MP3 Direct Cut Splitting with Cue Marks

In MP3 Direct Cut, how does one manually place cue points in an MP3 file
to enable splitting of an MP3 album into individual song tracks? I am
aware of pressing control-shift-a to enable auto splitting by time
segments, but I cannot locate in the manual how you use the keyboard to
manually place cue points between each song track.
