Hello I have a couple of questions that I am hoping some one could help me out with

I am a program insider for microsoft windows10 test builds I know that there is a windows 10 creative bild that is out but I can't figure out how to install it

nothing is appearing in the windows updates so I can get it can some one please tell me what to do?

the other questions is a software question

I am currently trying to get Freemake video downloader and I can't seem to get anything to read

one of the reasons why I am trying this program is because it allows one to download intire youtube channels and inture playlists with as far as I can tell freemake video downloader is the only app that I can do this that separates the tracks

ponts media downloader also does this but it puts all the playlist in 1 huge file and because of this I can't use the program so I am trying to find a alternative that can do what I am wanting to do]

also free make video downloadr also allows converting of videos to mp3

if any one can please help me out it would be apprecaitedd

thanks

Hi Everyone,
I am the person Mike was talking about when he mentioned about program
manager. I have several different problems with my windows 7, I think I
will have to call the geek squad so they can remotely check my computer
because I just don't understand half of what is going on. I get the program
manager that comes up, and locks my entire screen, and I have to use the
force computer shut down option. When the computer comes back on, it is
fine just for another couple of days. Program manager won't allow me to
close any opened folders that I might have open at the time. I also get a
message saying desktop alert, and I have to press alt plus f4 to get rid of
that. I also get a pop up message when I'm online saying internet has
blocked a popup even though, I might allow a popup on a certin site, I still
can't read the page. Another problem is just pressing alt plus tab to move
to another opened screen on my computer, I get a message saying leaving
menus, and I don't have any menus opened such as the application or file
menu opened, and I've even pressed insert/tab and I hear the file and the
application options. This is extremely annoying!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I don't know if the old Openbook list can still be subscribed to.
Current members can still send and receive messages but the group may not be run properly any longer.  I've heard complaints about people not being able to get messages if they are new members.
I'm going into this because the group you subscribed to only has about twenty-seven members.  I don't know what your question is but you might do better on this list or sending a message here you want someone to forward to the old list, which has, I believe, hundreds of members.

Re: error when downloading e-mail

Gene

It's remarkable how many people reinstall programs, thus wasting considerable time and effort and at times losing data, when that is the least likely solution.  I would advise those who aren't sure whether to reinstall programs to ask here before doing so.  Time after time, I see people state that they reinstalled a program and it didn't solve the problem.

I'm not being critical.  I'm trying to save people time and trouble as well as possible new problems perhaps caused by losing previously existing data you want in the program, previous settings, or just the off chance that reinstalling a program might cause problems in the program that didn't exist before.

Hi All,

I'm running windows 7 here and outlook express, I believe version 6.

For the past week or 2 every time I download e-mail an error dialogue pops up with the following error messages:

Under the tasks tab it says failed local area network, and under the errors tab it says Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.  Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

I seem to still be getting all of my mail but I have to hit a hide button to get back to my downloaded messages.  I receive mail from 2 different accounts, my road runner account and my gmail account, but it appears that it's my gmail server that's causing the problem.

Out of the 3 possible causes listed in the message above I don't think the error is caused by inactivity because I don't have to wait that long for my e-mail to finish downloading.

I thought that outlook express might be corrupted so I reinstalled it using run as administrator and that didn't solve the problem, can anybody else give me some other things to try?  As I say I seem to be getting all of my mail, but this error is getting annoying.

Oh, and there's also times when I go to send a message and it doesn't get sent right away either.

Thanks.

Hi Pam,

Have you ever talked to someone & got the feeling that they were very uncomfortable talking to a blind person?!  Well, I got this feeling as soon as I told the 1st dude that answered the phone that I was blind & explained why I needed their help.  Dude #1 told me that he has never talked to a blind person that used a computer.  I'm not going to go into a blow by blow, but after I showed dude #1 that the problem wasn't on my computer, he couldn't help me, so he got a supervisor on the phone.  When I showed the supervisor my Outlook Express Yahoo properties settings, & explained what I needed, he knew exactly what I was wanting from them, & during this exchange I also got a very strong feeling that the supervisor also felt uncomfortable talking to a blind person.  This is why I think the supervisor didn't want to spend any extra time on the phone with me trying to explain how / what he had done.

Hi Mike,

It's great to hear that you have resolved the problem. Pity they are not
more tech aware. So, I take it from your message that there is nothing we
can do to resolve the problem ourselves and have to ring Yahoo CS? As I'm in
the UK the phone number doesn't help, but I'm not that interested in the
Yahoo account anyway.

As for the CS that didn't believe you were actually blind and using a
computer, I can tell a similar story about an Ebay seller who actually
blocked me from buying from him because I asked too many questions about his
computer product and he didn't believe that I was totally blind and knew so
much about computers! He didn't want me to leave negative feedback, so he
blocked me - should have more confidence in his items! After all these years
I'm still surprised at the ignorance of certain people - should really know
better I guess.

Take care.

Hi Carlos & John,

Well, I had a low vision friend try to find the POP setting without any
luck, so he gave me the tech support phone number for Yahoo.  It was a bitch
at 1st because the dude didn't believe I was blind & using a computer so, I
had to prove it to the A'Hole.  LOL  There was a bit of a language barrier,
but we managed to get around that to the point of, them having to get a
supervisor on the phone with me.  The 1st dude had logged onto my computer &
when the supervisor got on with me he was able to understand the setting
that needed to be changed, & here's the message they sent, as a confirmation
of sorts I guess.

Hi Mike,

You just allowed apps that may use a less secure sign-in method to access
your Yahoo account mibru9902. This change allows email applications that do
not meet Yahoo's recommended security standards to access your account and
may leave your account more vulnerable to security risks.

Okay,my new email is now working, & here's their tech support phone #:
1-800-385-4304,
if anyone happens to need it.

If anyone has to call them regarding this same problem be prepared to
explain many times that the setting that needs to be changed is on their
server, & not on your computer if you already have the account set-up.  They
didn't believe that the setting was on their server until I showed them I
had the account on the computer configured correctly, & that the setting on
the server had to be activated so the server & my email client could
communicate.

Oh well, everything is good now.

Take care.

Hi Kimsan,

Actually for everything that went on, the phone call didn't take very long at all.  It all took less than 30 minutes.  Once they understood what I wanted it was real quick.  Make sure that you tell them that you need what step #4 says, & it should go rather quickly, hopefully anyways.
4. Turn the “Allow apps that use less secure sign in” setting to “On“

Hi John,

I tried very hard to get the supervisor to tell me exactly how he changed the necessary setting, but as hard as I tried, it just wasn't going to happen!  I trried explaining to him that many blind / visually impaired could benefit from his knowledge, but he just said to have anyone having problems on the Yahoo website, call Yahoo tech support.  Well, I tried from a couple of other angles, but again, no such luck.  Thanks for your input.

Take care.

Take care.

John.

YAHOO

Take care.

That guy sounded like he was on a power trip.  Everybody has to call him to get the help!  (as he puffs out his stomach)  Pam.

Take care.

Take care.

John.

YAHOO

Take care.
Mike

Hi Mike,
Generally when you are asked to click something and the type of mouse click
is not specified, a single left click should be assumed.

Hi Carlos,

In the instructions given from the link you posted, it says,
Click Edit next to the desired Yahoo! Mail address under Yahoo
account.
Is clicking edit a right mouse click?  If not, what would it be?
Thanks much.
Take care.

also, finding instructions for enabling it was not difficult, but
the
impression I am getting is that the procedure may simply not be very

accessible.  Although as I said I do not currently have a Yahoo
account so I
have not had the opportunity to test this myself.  See the following
