Not that anyone ever listens to me, but many of these random/unexplainable issues can often be resolved by backing up and restoring the registry. This is much more reliable, less extreme, and less prone to errors than using System Restore. I would say that probably about 95% of unexplainable issues in Windows which are not cause by malware or viruses, are most likely cause by minor corruption or problems in the registry.

Maybe. I just did not want to suggest that one for now. So... Tools>Internet Options>Advance tab. Press the "Reset..." button and also check the "Delete personal settings" check box. Note this will also disable your add-on. So, for example, if you have a download manager you need to go to add-on manager to re-enable it. It won't effect Flash, however. Happy trying...

Immediately after you turn on the machine, start tapping the F8 key. Immediately after you turn on the machine, start tapping the F8 key. When the Advanced Boot Options menu appears, try selecting "last known good configuration" If that fails, try booting into Safe Mode from the same menu. If you can manage to boot in to Safe Mode, try using System Restore to resolve the issue. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sugar" <sugarsyl71@sbcglobal.net> To: <main@TechTalk.groups.io> Sent: Saturday, August 20, 2016 4:22 PM Subject: [TechTalk] lap top issue

To scroll through all the books stored on your cartridge, press and hold the play button on the DTB player until it announces "book shelf". Then use the forward and rewind buttons to the right and left of the play button, respectively, to scroll through the books until you land on the one you want to play and then press the play button to begin playback.

Hello Sugar, Based on some comments I am seeing online, this problem may be caused by malware. You should try booting into Safe Mode as I previously suggested and run malware/virus scans. Re: IE11 Unable To Play Youtube Videos
IE still receives security updates but the program
itself hasn't been updated for years. Firefox and Chrome have a lot more
add ons and easy to use features that Firefox doesn't have. I'm not saying
firefox is a bad program, but it's technically increasingly outdated and
limited.

Re: Transferring books from Computer
Hi Marsha,
It should be a simple matter of opening two
Explorer windows. One displaying the files you want to copy, and another
displaying the contents of the card. You can then copy the files to the
clipboard using Control C, Alt Tab to the Explorer window displaying the
contents of the card, and then use Control V to paste/transfer
them.

Re: IE11 Unable To Play Youtube Videos
Which takes much longer to run and which I suspect
has a much less likely possibility of solving the problem. If you
understand what system restore does and what problems it may cause, such as
having to reinstall programs you have installed after the restore point and one
or two other things to be aware of which I'll discuss if anyone is interested,
if the user knows these things, then the user can decide if running a restore
point may entail more annoyances than he/she wants to put up with. But
characterizing system restore as a last resort is not a proper generalization
about when to use it.

Re: IE11 Unable To Play Youtube Videos
Not that anyone ever listens to me, but many of
these random/unexplainable issues can often be resolved by backing up and
restoring the registry. This is much more reliable, less extreme, and less
prone to errors than using System Restore. I would say that probably about
95% of unexplainable issues in Windows which are not cause by malware or
viruses, are most likely cause by minor corruption or problems in the
registry.

Some people are afraid of system restores.
This is not the system reset feature which will reset Windows to the factory
state, if you tell it to do that. This is system restore and it is
intended to be used to solve problems such as restoring your computer to the
state it was in before a bad program installation, the effects of which can't
be undone by uninstalling. It also is very useful for solvingt problems
whose solution is not known or might be much more cumbersome or difficult to
achieve without using system Restore. Everyone should have some means of
reverting their computer or computers. If not system restore, something
else.

"Reset..." button and also check the "Delete personal settings" check
