Re: best MVNO plans?

Hi,

The upgrade plan doesn't make sense to me. It is very unlikely that I would replace a phone every two years. But I am still thinking while I continue to wait for new phones. Does anyone actually make use of VOLTE? With Metro, the audio sounds like a landline, even though I enabled LTE for voice and data. Almost anyone I call has that type of audio quality. If postpaid plans offer this, even if I don't use unlimited data, that would be a good reason to switch. Metro claims that they offer VOLTE though.

I would say it probably is. I got the Apple upgrade plan, but that only works with the major four’s postpaid services, at least when you initially buy it. They are unlocked, so you can switch or use any sim you want after you have it though. Through experimenting with a couple different prepaid options out there, I found that Sprint really has the fastest speeds here, but it isn’t great in the rural areas. I don’t know that any of them are, but when I heard it was last call for the Sprint Kickstart plan, I jumped back on, as I know that at least in the recent past, T-Mobile’s strong suit in coverage isn’t near me. I’ve heard eventually, the coverage they have and what Sprint had will be the same, but I think they’re still mostly operating separately yet.

Hi,

Another  question I have is with replacing my outdated Iphone 6. I waited for the 5g capable 12 pro, which was supposed to have a much better processor. But that has turned out to be a mistake, with reports showing that the new a14 is marginally faster than the 13. When replacing my phone, I want to order directly through apple, and pay the phone directly. I need an unlocked phone, as I travel internationally, and need to be able to use local sim cards. Is purchasing from apple, as opposed to the carrier a good stratigy?

Hi,

So they actually require a contract for those prices if I remember, so you pay a year in advance. Also, that 15 dollar plan is a 3gb plan.

Hello,

I think Mint Mobile has one of the better prepaid plans. It is $30 a month for unlimited everything. They also have a $15 a month plan that gives you, I think, 12 gigs of data a month.

Hi Brian,

I am honestly debating with myself whether to go MVNO/prepaid or postpaid regular plan. I am on metro for my current IPhone 6, but since literally no network officially supports this device, I am thinking of switching to a better  plan when I get a  new IPhone when they come out. I am leaning more towards postpaid though, after some thought, especially since I would be able to benefit from employee discounts, that likely would shave off between 10-15 at least on the monthly bill. And I am not 55  or older.

Enes,

T-Mobile has an incredible plan for those age 55 and over and since they don't require a contract . . .

Yo Music Man,

Take a look at the thread below and it will explain frame navigation and also why frame labeling might not be necessary.

From: Dean Martineau
Navigate from frame to frame using m, but chances are you can use other
quick keys to get to what you need.  There may be a link to add a payee, for
instance.  Then your payees may be marked by checkboxes, or edit fields.
Each has its own quick key.

From: Dan Rossi
Miriam,

It is my experience that you don't get into and out of a frame.  You can
just arrow down the page and you will hear something like FRAME NAME, then
all the stuff in that frame, then end of frame.

You don't have to do anything special to enter it.  Just by moving down
with your virtual cursor, you enter and exit it.

Some frames are emtpy so there really isn't anything in them to navigate
to.

You can use the m key to jump around the page by frames, then when you get
to the frame you want, just start arrowing down.

Hit the letter M, to go from frame to frame.  Put them in a list with insert +

Or, you can use the keystroke for frames is JAWSKey+9.

Hi Mike, and list,

Yes, the end that plugs into the printer is sort of square, it has two corners sloped at an angle.

The cable that connects my Epson scanner to my pc has the same end that connects to the scanner.

These cables have been around since printers and scanners  had  had u s b connections.

Ron,

If your printer does not have an ethernet connection, or you don't want to connect with an ethernet cable you need an USB 2.0 A / B cable.  The, male A
end, of the cable plugs into the USB port on your computer and the, male B end, plugs into the back of the printer.  The 2 ends are shaped differently
so you'll know which is which.

Subject: [TechTalk] Question About Brothers Printer

Hi Group,

On another list, I have been discussing my purchase a few days ago of a
Brothers HL-L3210CDW Color Laser Jet Printer. I have been updating
people on this other list about whether or not the printer is accessible
or not. Below is a relevant portion of the post as well as the pertinent
question referred to in the subject line.

...Even though the people at Accessible Products Hotline and Amazon told
me through a variety of questioning on my part that the set up was
totally accessible, this is not the case. The wireless is in fact menu
driven and you need sighted help to enter the router information.

While there are buttons on the top of the printer, most of them are for
navigating the menus. The power button, the initiate print job or OK
button and the cancel button are the only buttons not directly connected
to the menus. The wireless button turns wireless on/off--assuming you
can get the wireless configured through the menus.

In addition, I called Amazon disability to inquire about what kind of
wired connecting cable I would need and they couldn't help me. They
referred me to Brothers tech support. A woman speaking heavily accented
English told me--or at least that's what I thought she told me--that I
needed a USB data cable with USB 2.0 or higher and with a double male
connector--one end into the computer and one end into the printer. This
is not the case. One end does indeed fit into the computer, but the
other similar end won't fit into the printer. I am not sure what kind
of connector you need on the printer side, so I am wondering just what
kind of printer type connection this is. It looked to me like a standard
USB input for a male connector.

Can anyone tell me what kind of cable I would need for the printer side?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
