Re: baseball's game day audio

hi troy:

I had to do this just a few weeks ago.

you must go into your account and you must go to the add new credit card link and treat it as if you are adding a new credit card.

my card's expiration date had changed, so, as in the past, I thought you could just change the expiration date.

now, that is no longer possible.

then, after you do this, you can delete your old credit card info.

it will know for sure this march if I can still get gameday audio for the coming season, since my account is set up for automatic renewal.

Hi all,

I need to update my credit card information so I can be charged next
month for my game day audio subscription, can somebody give me a link
where I can do this? I have a phone number for mlb.com but when I called
a few minutes ago I was told that I have to make the changes online
myself for privacy purposes. I went to mlb.com however and didn't find a
place to log in so I can do what I need to do.

Thanks.

Re: Drop box.

Gene

That's an interesting question and I'm not sure what you should do.  the Dropbox program monitors the folder in a certain place on a certain drive.  If you open the program and it doesn't see a folder where it looks, I don't know if it will create one and download all the files to it, or if it will delete the folders and files you currently have in the online storage.

We'll see what others say.  I may write more later, depending on what others say.

Hi George,

I purchased game day audio originally through the computer though, can I still update the info through the at bat app and if so how? I went into the FAQ under game day audio and all I've found so far is where it talks about is if the purchase was through the app.

Re: Drop box.

Steve Matzura

Get it off the solid state drive. If your Dropbox is big, or could potentially become big, or is active, you're wasting space and writes for no reason by keeping it on the SSD. The Dropbox application has an automatic facility to move its storage to wherever you want it to be. Use that function to move your Dropbox folder to your large-capacity drive. It's totally transparent to the user and always works. To do it:

1. Open the Dropbox application located in the system tray, or if you're on a Mac, from the Dropbox Extras menu.

2. Choose "Access and manage your Dropbox settings" from the menu.

3. Move to the "Sync" tab.

4. Activate the "Move..." button and follow the prompts.

Recently bought my $500 braille me display

Josh Kennedy

Hi,
I recently bought my braille me display for the sale price of $499 from www.atguys.com ... I got it just in time because the price went up to $531 plus $9 shipping and I got mine for $499 plus $9 shipping. So I will write the list and let you know how I like it when it arrives this afternoon in the mail. I got one back in early 2018 two years ago and returned it shortly after I got it because the pins rattled around inside and it had many braille dot issues so I got my money back for that one back in early 2018. I can't wait to play with this new improved one and I have some ideas as to how to maybe get the braille me to work with jaws so I will try that as well. Even though it says the braille me does not work with jaws? I may be able to prove them wrong and make it work so we'll see what happens with that.

Thank you for responding.  I wasn't sure if this was even possible.  I am thinking that I may have someone who is sighted take a picture of the photo in my messages on the computer from my phone like a screen shot and then maybe I could post it then.  If not, oh well!  Take care.

February Jaws2020.2001.70 Build Download Link + What's New

Mike B

Hi All,

Below is the direct download link for the latest J2020 February build update.
For both 32 & 64 bit systems:

What's new in this release:

Enhancements
Enhancements in JAWS 2020.2001.70 (February 2020)

The following is a list of improvements made between the December 2019 release and the February 2020 update.

list of 20 items
• Addressed issues using JAWS and Fusion with the new Microsoft Edge Chromium Browser released in January 2020. Notable fixes include reviewing text in
Edit Controls and the Address Bar as well as a possible loss of speech and braille output.
• Added a new JAWS Settings Center option called "Skip Blank Lines While Navigating" which is on by default when reading web pages and PDF documents. This
feature helps make reading more efficient as JAWS and Fusion ignores blank lines as you navigate using UP and DOWN ARROW. For those who prefer to hear
blank lines while navigating, open Settings Center (INSERT+6) and clear this check box. You can find this new option in the Web / HTML / PDF group under
Reading.
• Changed the Highlight Tracking used in JAWS when navigating web pages or PDF documents with the Virtual Cursor from a Green Block to a Red Box to match
ZoomText and Fusion. To further customize the settings used for visually highlighting text as you navigate, open Settings Center and expand the Visual
Tracking group.
• When reading comments in Word documents, JAWS now also reads any reply comments. For instance, if you are focused on a comment that contains a reply,
pressing ALT+SHIFT+APOSTROPHE now reads both the original comment followed by the reply.
• When using Say All (INSERT+DOWN ARROW) to read a book in the Kindle for PC application, resolved a customer reported issue where JAWS or Fusion would
repeat the last line after reaching the end.
• Added a new Quick Settings option called "Blank Cell Announcement" for JAWS and Fusion that is available when using Excel. By default, when you encounter
empty cells as you navigate spreadsheets, you hear "blank" followed by the cell coordinates. Turn off this option if you only want to hear the coordinates
of empty cells, making speech less verbose as you navigate.
• Removed the "Microsoft Edge Browser Support" option from JAWS Settings Center as it is no longer needed. This control was required in order to use the
original Edge browser that is being removed from Windows 10 by Microsoft and replaced by the new Chromium version of Edge released in January 2020.
• Added the ability for JAWS and Fusion to properly recognize and report both Column Span and Row Span info in HTML tables where information might span
over 2 or more cells.
• For JAWS installations licensed using one of the new portal licenses that is tied to an email address, the status line of the JAWS window now only displays
the expiration date for the license. The About dialog box will display additional license information including the users email Address, expiration date,
and the serial number.
• Resolved a reported issue where a customer was not able to properly migrate settings from an earlier version.
• Addressed an issue where typing Contracted Braille very quickly using a Braille keyboard would sometimes cause text to appear in gibberish. This was
observed primarily when typing in Office applications and when exporting text from the Scratchpad on Focus displays into an open Office document.
• Resolved a long standing issue where attempting to select and delete multiple words in a row using a Braille keyboard was not working as expected in
Word and Outlook.
• When typing into a Word document using Contracted Braille, resolved an issue where immediately backspacing over a word and typing a replacement word
would result in duplicate text on the current line.
• Added support for 3 African Languages (Sotho, Xhosa, and Zulu) when using Convenient OCR in JAWS and Fusion.
• Resolved a reported issue with TreeViews in Eclipse not reading as expected using speech. Braille support for these controls will be addressed in a future
update.
• All JAWS Flexible Web Rules created for 1 chromium based Browser will now apply for any other browser that also uses Chromium. For example, if you create
a Flexible Web Rule in Chrome, it will also apply for the new Microsoft Edge Chromium Browser.
• Resolved an issue where FSReader would become unresponsive when opening a very large DAISY book.
• Added a function for web application scripts that helps JAWS ignore the role="application" attribute when a web author has used it incorrectly. This
was reported by ONCE in Spain and was related to SAP web-based applications.
• Resolved a reported issue from Once in Spain where opening very large messages in Outlook 365 with lots of nested levels was causing JAWS and Outlook
to stop responding.
• Added Color Settings options to the View menu in the Script Manager to help users who have issues viewing certain colors, for instance, red/green color
blindness.
list end

Need Ideas for Bluetooth Speaker

Lisa Belville

Hi, all.

I'm looking for a small, inexpensive good-sounding Bluetooth speaker with some bass and volume that is easy for someone with no vision to operate.  I have a Jam Box mini, and while I like the sound, it's not loud enough for me to use it for YouTube or Netflix watching with my iPhone SE.  I'm looking at the OontZ Angle 3 (3rd Gen) - Bluetooth Portable Speaker on Amazon.  This thing is under $30 and has over 47 thousand reviews with a score of  4.4.  I know Amazon has gotten static for allowing false reviews, but if anyone has used this speaker, I'd be interested in your thoughts because it seems to have everything I need.

https://smile.amazon.com/Enhanced-Splashproof-Portable-Bluetooth-Radiator/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=OontZ+Angle+Bluetooth+speaker%3A&qid=1580844369&sr=8-3

If the link doesn't work, just plug OontZ Angle 3 (3rd Gen) - Bluetooth Portable Speaker, into the search box and it pops right up.

TIA for your thoughts.

Lisa

Re: PayPal Question

Thank you for sharing this.  I was actually trying the general transcriptionist free lance jobs on the different websites but will no longer be doing that.  I have changed my mind on all of this and moving on.  Thank you again for your help.

Shelly

Dear Shelly & List:::::::::::::

Are you considering work as a medical transcriptionist? Many if the Medical
Transcribing firms may be using a transcribing program from Nuance, the
makers of Dragon Dictate. Friend of mine worked for think it was Spherus,
somewhere in the USA, they switched to a program from Nuance, it's kind of
worked with JAWS but not very well. Try the Nuance web site and see if you
may download a try-out version of their editor and voice recognition editing
program.

Many hospitals now have the doctor dictate the letter or other document, let
Dragon translate it into text, then all the MT is supposed to do is review
the translated dictation, fixing up any errors.

My friend said some dictation files translated so poorly it was faster for
her to erase the complete translated text and retype the document from the
dictation voice file.

The Doctors can train Dragon to their voice , however, seems some
Doctors do not do this or because they have a foreign accent, say from India
or Pakistan, they cannot train the Dragon to their voice.

She said some Doctors mumble when Dictating, others chew gum, and some do
both at once!

She said this made understanding the Doctor's dictation challenging.

You will find the typing firms pay 7.5 cents per 65-character line.

Many hospitals want the lines as full as possible, thus you list medicines
one after another on one line, not on separate lines.

She said this requirement kills your daily line count.

Their program counts carriage returns, each one is 7.5 cents.

A couple of firms she worked for only granted USS Thanksgiving and Christmas
Day as paid holidays.

Some supervisors will phone you if you stop typing for more than 1-minute to
ask why no typing.

My friend found the firms guarantee hospitals 24-hour delivery of finished
dictation, to achieve this, they worked the transcriptionists to death with
mandatory overtime and work on weekends. If they do not deliver the finished
dictation within 24-hours, the firm pays the hospital a non-performance fee
of $25 per delayed document.

She said most firms operate as an electronic sweatshop. all MT firms have
great comprehensive, dental, health, hearing, visual and pharma care at good
prices.

The talking ccradio is a sangean product. It's almost exactly like the hdradio I bought that was a sangean product; it looks just like it, anyway. I saw it, but didn't get much useful information from the person I know who bought it, because she doesn't listen to over-the-air radio. She just uses it to hook her iphone up to. Pam.

C. Crane no longer sells any Sangean products. Perhaps they listen to their customers.
I own several Sangean radios, CCCCRadio , CCRadio 2, CCRadio SW, the Observer and two of the shirt-pocket AM/FM/weather radios and a wind-up AM/FM/Weather radio. Gave two wind-up radios to friends in NYC, they said they have plenty electricity, them Sandy played New York, the lights went out for over a week, the electric train set was flooded to top of the stations. However, the MTA brought in trains with Pump cars and work trains with new ballast, they got the train set running again in a week or so. And the 44-foot GM diesel busses.

All settings in memory are erased.

It is odd that both radios are suffering the same problem, and that it

One of my Radio's had a problem with the On and Off Switch. I bought
some of that tuner Cleaner, and sprayed all around that Switch, and it
started working again.

If it were me, I would call the Crane Company and talk to a live

Hope you get those Radios fixed.
