C. Crane no longer sells any Sangean products. Perhaps they listen to their customers.
I own several Sangean radios, CCCCRadio , CCRadio 2, CCRadio SW, the Observer and two of the shirt-pocket AM/FM/weather radios and a wind-up AM/FM/Weather radio. Gave two wind-up radios to friends in NYC, they said they have plenty electricity, them Sandy played New York, the lights went out for over a week, the electric train set was flooded to top of the stations. However, the MTA brought in trains with Pump cars and work trains with new ballast, they got the train set running again in a week or so. And the 44-foot GM diesel busses.

The same man that said that over the air radio is going away also said that the c Crain radios are junk. I don't think so but I have never had one. I think that if they were junk then all of those coast to coast listeners would send them back. Brian Sackrider

Sorry, I don't know of any Fix for your Radio's, but I always lose all
settings when I unplug the Cord, and remove the Batteries, and leave
it for an hour or so.


All settings in memory are erased.


It is odd that both radios are suffering the same problem, and that it
is All the memory Buttons and not just one or two.


One of my Radio's had a problem with the On and Off Switch. I bought
some of that tuner Cleaner, and sprayed all around that Switch, and it
started working again.


If it were me, I would call the Crane Company and talk to a live
person, and see if they can give you an answer, or pass you to someone who could.


Hope you get those Radios fixed.

Are you considering work as a medical transcriptionist? Many if the Medical
Transcribing firms may be using a transcribing program from Nuance, the
makers of Dragon Dictate. Friend of mine worked for think it was Spherus,
somewhere in the USA, they switched to a program from Nuance, it's kind of
worked with JAWS but not very well. Try the Nuance web site and see if you
may download a try-out version of their editor and voice recognition editing
program.

Many hospitals now have the doctor dictate the letter or other document, let
Dragon translate it into text, then all the MT is supposed to do is review
the translated dictation, fixing up any errors.

My friend said some dictation files translated so poorly it was faster for
her to erase the complete translated text and retype the document from the
dictation voice file.

The Doctors can train Dragon to their voice , however, seems some
Doctors do not do this or because they have a foreign accent, say from India
or Pakistan, they cannot train the Dragon to their voice.

She said some Doctors mumble when Dictating, others chew gum, and some do
both at once!

She said this made understanding the Doctor's dictation challenging.

You will find the typing firms pay 7.5 cents per 65-character line.

Many hospitals want the lines as full as possible, thus you list medicines
one after another on one line, not on separate lines.

She said this requirement kills your daily line count.

Their program counts carriage returns, each one is 7.5 cents.

A couple of firms she worked for only granted USS Thanksgiving and Christmas
Day as paid holidays.

Some supervisors will phone you if you stop typing for more than 1-minute to
ask why no typing.

My friend found the firms guarantee hospitals 24-hour delivery of finished
dictation, to achieve this, they worked the transcriptionists to death with
mandatory overtime and work on weekends. If they do not deliver the finished
dictation within 24-hours, the firm pays the hospital a non-performance fee
of $25 per delayed document.

She said most firms operate as an electronic sweatshop. all MT firms have
great comprehensive, dental, health, hearing, visual and pharma care at good
prices.

I have a solid state drive that's 5 years old this year.  I use another hard drive for my data.  I don't think it's that, because if I remember to turn off the power at the plug and turn it back on, it seems to work fine.  I tried the suggestions on the websites you sent Gene, and my drivers are up to date and fast boot is disabled.

Yes there is. You should reset the speaker to default. You said it was the alexa enabled sonos 1? First, unplug the speaker. Next, hold the round button on the back in. This is the same button you use to set it up. Keep it held in and plug the speaker in. Wait about 30 secondds, then release the button.

This will reset the speaker to factory default.

I'm not sure if you can help with this but thought I would ask anyway.  I'm not even sure if this can be done.  A friend of mine sent me a message on Facebook and I don't have messenger.  I get my messages from the computer.  She sent me a photo and I wanted to post it to my wall.  Is there any way I can do this?  I tried hitting control C for copy and Control V for paste and it doesn't work.  If any of you have been successful at this, simple directions would be ideal.  If it can't be done, please let me know.

CCrane radio decisions

Hi all,
I was looking at the CCrane website, and I stuck between two radios.
The CC pocket, and the EP pro, whitch are both within my price range. I’m just not sure whitch one to get.
The pocket would be grate if I’m out and about, but the EP has really good sound, plus it’s still analog, and I don’t much care for the new radios with digital tuning…
Has anyone had any experience with these particular models of radios?

Actually, according to Sonos, there is a way to re-set them to factory settings. It is pretty simple to do and I was able to do it myself. the speaker is already sold.

Hi,

Ah glad I hadn't made the whole thing up and strange that it works on some machines and not on others.  I find that with JFW while it reports saying back it yields nothing while NVDA just does nothing at all.

It is an odd thing; and I did peruse the context menu and it yielded no back button at least not for me anyway and backspace did nothing either..

Yes sir that's usually my practice but on the rare occasions when I've forgotten a few times or when a site like zedge.net just won't for the shift enter and insists on opening in the same tab or so it seems when viewing an uploaded ringtone i did note that it wasn't working and just wondered if it was just me losing my mind or if it was broken or actually had never been a thing in that browser.  I thank you for replying. Some days I wonder about the old brain over here 😁

How does a person pick their background and font colors?  My wife says my background is black, but in personalization default blue is selected.  Also my font size, according to Jaws, is 9 and I would like to increase this a little bit.  Running Win10 Pro 1909.18363.628 with Jaws2020 & NVDA.  All help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks much.

I have a solid state drive that's 5 years old this year.  I use another hard drive for my data.  I don't think it's that, because if I remember to turn off the power at the plug and turn it back on, it seems to work fine.  I tried the suggestions on the websites you sent Gene, and my drivers are up to date and fast boot is disabled.

I haven't. but you might look into a gentle wrap for your wrist.  or check into what aleexa or wiki how has to say about treating carpel tunnel symptoms at home.

This may solve your problem or most of it.
 
If you need to know how to switch to the laptop layout, ask.  I'll also tell you, before starting the main explanation, that when you have the laptop layout on, you still have access to all the desktop layout commands so you can use either commands you want.
 
I checked and if you use the laptop keyboard layout, the capslock key can be used as a JAWS key.  So capslock down arrow will read to end.  Caps lock up arrow will read the current line.  Caps lock left arrow reads the previous word, caps lock right arrow reads the next word. 
 
But you can do these things in the laptop layout without using the numpad.  
If you hold the JAWS key, in this case you would use numlock as the JAWS key, numpad I equals numpad 8, numlock u, numpad 7, numlock o, nnumpad 9.
The three keys below duplicate the numpad 4, 5 and6, that is, j, k, l, and the three keys below those, numpad 1, 2, and 3.
So read current line is numlock I.  Read next line is numpad o, etc. 
 
Knowing what I've described may solve or considerably eliminate the problem you are having. 
 
I hadn't paid much attention to the laptop layout, but I knew a bit about it from messages from lists and I experimented with my JAWS demo.

Hi Gene, For me, I think the commands that most affect my right wrist are: Say All, Insert+DownArrow, Current line, Insert+UpArrow and Next Word Insert+RightArrow.

 

I don’t know why these are the most troublesome for me, perhaps it is just their frequent use or maybe there’s something in my hand or wrist bones that just becomes irritated by these motions.

I should add that, while I specifically addressed NVDA in my message, with some modifications, my comments could apply to JAWS and they might to other screen-readers. I specifically discussed NVDA because I didn't pay attention to the to line and I thought it was addressed to the NVDA list, which it isn't.  But having said that, there is a laptop layout for JAWS and there may be ways to do whatever is causing irritation, or a lot of it that won't or won't nearly as much if you want to stay in the desktop layout.  If you tell us which commands you believe are causing a good deal of the problems, we might be able to address those.
