I did not flame Dennis, I called the position of theirs stupid.

In any case, if anyone wishes to participate in a welcoming forum to discuss

any form of technology, or if you'd like to listen to the BlindTechGuys

You have sent this message to a number of lists. I can only speak for
this one. I will allow those criticized to respond. I will not allow this
thread to continue beyond that. I shall attempt to explain the difference
between this and other conduct that occurs on lists of this sort without
objection by the owners and to which I do not object.

If someone has a problem with a service or company, a message discussing
the
matter may be allowed, generally as a part of a larger discussion.
Generally, people do not open threads saying I was treated this or that way
by this company. Usually, such responses are sent if a certain topic bears
on it such as where to buy something. A member may say that they have had
bad experiences with this or that vendor or brand as a part of such
discussions. A member may send a message saying that this or that list
isn't moderated and there is a lot of off topic traffic or that this or
that
list doesn't like messages from inexperienced users if someone has asked
what lists are good for this or that subject. But allowing this sort of
unsolicited discussion, a list member sending an angry flame such as the
below message is not allowed. Allowing such messages might cause this list
to turn into a consumer complaint kind of list and a shaming list and it
violates the no flame rule. Sending a message saying I've been trying to
join this or that list, will the owners please explain why I haven't been
approved is allowed. Messages like this are not.

In future, will anyone who wants to post such criticisms ask using the
llist
owner's address or write to the moderator or me before posting. The
message
may not be acceptable as written. It might be modified to fit within the
list rules and expectations.

improving audio quality. The quality of the podcast was distracting to

intersection notifications don't work reliably. There are many features
missing from Nearby Explorer, so I would have liked for the team to address
those. For instance, I would have liked the team to ask about the GeoBeam
feature, as this was really helpful in finding the door to a building.

If I still don't get a response after this public post, I will be removing

Also, as to not clutter the list any further, please post your agreement or

In any case, if anyone wishes to participate in a welcoming forum to discuss any form of technology, or if you'd like to listen to the BlindTechGuys podcast, please visit www.blindtechguys.com or send an email directly to mailto:blindtechguys%2Bsubscribe@googlegroups.com and let me assure you, you won't have to deal with Gene's seemingly arbitrary rules about what is or is not flaming, while he does that to his own members at times. You have sent this message to a number of lists. I can only speak for
this one. I will allow those criticized to respond. I will not allow this
thread to continue beyond that. I shall attempt to explain the difference
between this and other conduct that occurs on lists of this sort without
objection by the owners and to which I do not object.

If someone has a problem with a service or company, a message discussing the
matter may be allowed, generally as a part of a larger discussion.
Generally, people do not open threads saying I was treated this or that way
by this company. Usually, such responses are sent if a certain topic bears
on it such as where to buy something. A member may say that they have had
bad experiences with this or that vendor or brand as a part of such
discussions. A member may send a message saying that this or that list
isn't moderated and there is a lot of off topic traffic or that this or that
list doesn't like messages from inexperienced users if someone has asked
what lists are good for this or that subject.

In future, will anyone who wants to post such criticisms ask using the llist
owner's address or write to the moderator or me before posting. The message
may not be acceptable as written. It might be modified to fit within the
list rules and expectations.

I would not recommend this computer to some one who needs it for portability cause this is a gaming computer but Lenovo’s productivity laptops are great as well. Hi all,

May I respectfully suggest that this is a personal matter. There has been a good deal of bouncing of messages these days, especially those from Gmail. Gmail was hacked a week or so ago, and since then, many people have been bouncing and/or having their mail not reach its destination.

Having seen responses from the people mentioned in the original post, may I humbly suggest that these people get together with the original poster off-list and settle this. It doesn't seem to be a huge problem.

Thanks Gene for clarifying what can and can't be posted here.

I could say the same for what you are doing to your members, particularly on a list that is supposedly unmoderated. But I guess that is a response in and itself. So thank you for clarifying the stupid position of your list, dennis.

If someone has a problem with a service or company, a message discussing the matter may be allowed, generally as a part of a larger discussion.  Generally, people do not open threads saying I was treated this or that way by this company.  Usually, such responses are sent if a certain topic bears on it such as where to buy something.  A member may say that they have had bad experiences with this or that vendor or brand as a part of such discussions.  A member may send a message saying that this or that list isn't moderated and there is a lot of off topic traffic or that this or that list doesn't like messages from inexperienced users if someone has asked what lists are good for this or that subject.  But allowing this sort of unsolicited discussion, a list member sending an angry flame such as the below message is not allowed.  Allowing such messages might cause this list to turn into a consumer complaint kind of list and a shaming list and it violates the no flame rule.  Sending a message saying I've been trying to join this or that list, will the owners please explain why I haven't been approved is allowed.  Messages like this are not.

In future, will anyone who wants to post such criticisms ask using the llist owner's address or write to the moderator or me before posting.  The message may not be acceptable as written.  It might be modified to fit within the list rules and expectations.

This Laptop Lenovo sounded good, and the price was right, matter of fact, it was the cheapest I could find at that time.  Actually I wanted to buy it at Best Buy which is a hop and skip away from me, so if something goes wrong with the Laptop, I can easily take it to Best Buy if it needed work done on it.  Best Buy had it on their site for $599, and Amazon had it on their site for $499, so I had a sited person go on Best Buy’s site, and ask them to do a price match, and they did, so I saved $100, and I think that is a good price especially for this Lenovo.

Thank you again!

If you read the app store description of the app & view the pricing of the app, you would have noticed that both the yearly & lifetime price is currently $49.99 & a monthly cost of $4.99.

Well, if it tells you that you have a life time account then,
Congratulations! because they usually don't give away lifetime

never heard of them. So, by the few people who did let me
know their experience with Lenovo, makes me feel more
comfortable, as this is the first time I even heard of
Lenovo Laptops. This also gives me more confidence.
Thank you again.

I have a Lenovo thinkpad.  My last tower, which was a dell, finally gave up the ghost about three years ago.  It had been fixed several times, and the guy who looked at it said it wasn’t worth trying to fix it again when I reminded him what had already been done to it.  So, he took out the hard drives and I got a bay for them.  Pam.

Hi Pam,

Yeah, I had Dell for many many years myself, as so many people in the Blind community always suggested Dell.

Although, this time I wanted to try something different.  What kind of PC do you use now?

A lot of people think Dell is the best thing since sliced bread.  I had two of them, and I can’t stand Dell.  I had a lot of problems with them.  Pam.

Putting my two cents into this topic. I was a big dell computer guy but this year I decided to go with the Lenovo Legion i5 and I would not look back. This is a power house and for the price it was right. I would not recommend this computer to some one who needs it for portability cause this is a gaming computer but Lenovo’s productivity laptops are great as well. My Girlfriend has a Lenovo ultra book and it has lasted her for a long time. You really cannot go wrong with Lenovo right now.

Hi Everyone,

I just want to thank those who said they have a Lenovo, as I

never heard of them.  So, by the few people who did let me

know their experience with Lenovo, makes me feel more

comfortable, as this is the first time I even heard of

Lenovo Laptops.  This also gives me more confidence.

Thank you again.
