Re: accessible air purifier

Hi Mike, One more question for you. Every single air purifier I've ever had has sadly had the terrible problem of attracting a grey or black residue near wherever it's set up even if I placed it the prescribed 1 to 2 feet away from walls and the like. Is this a table top or floor standing model and have you had any difficulties with this unit drawing dirt to itself and depositing it on surfaces nearby? Thanks again for enlightening us all. Take good care. Robin

Hello, I found this link and the description saids it has a push button on the filter to control the unit. I think it was the only one that had push buttons all the others were digital controlled displays. This unit also has UVC to disinfect the air. I have way less than 500 ft. But man this place collects dust like it is going out of style.

Hello Everyone
I found my Heaven Fresh air purifier on the Web. I believe Amazon used to sell them.
My machines consume 20 watts on low setting and I believe it is 40 watts on high. My machines include a 3 speed fan setting, a timer which is not accessible and a low level ozone generator.
I hope I have answered all the questions.
Best wishes
Mike.

Re: Saving the URL from an Internet Radio Station as a .pls or .m3u playlist file

Here is the page:
If you want to search for a station, use your
sscreen-reader’s find command to look for the word search. Be at the top
of the page when you use the find command. it’s a link. Follow it
and you will be on a search page.
There is an edit field, use the letter e to move to it and
search for a station.
When the results page comes up, use your screen-reader’s
find function again and from the top of the page, look for the word
results.
Then start looking down.
If the result you want has a play in media player link,
that’s the one you want to follow. You may find two links, something like
play in browser and play in media player. If you follow the media player
link, the stream will play in your default player. You can book mark it in
the player itself or you can probably copy the link itself to the
clipboard. If you want to know how, I’ll explain it in another
message.

Steven, I have done this in the past with mixed results. If the player is a JAVA based player, lots of luck. The only way to get a streaming address when the player is a Java player is to use a program like IP Sniffer and pick from several IP addresses that show up under the program. I know sighted people who have had good results doing this, but the program is largely inaccessible with JAWS and NVDA. On 4/11/2020 1:19 PM, Steven Johnson wrote:

Also, how much electricity does it use? There's probably a kilowatts-per-hour rating on it, or it should tell you how many amperes of current it draws, from which the number of kw/h can be calculated.

Saving the URL from an Internet Radio Station as a .pls or .m3u playlist file
Steven Johnson
I am messing around with the Blaze ET, trying to load a few of my favorite streaming radio stations. I know that I need to take the URL of a stream and make a .pls or .m3u playlist file out of it. My difficulty is finding the right URL that will make a stream start playing when pasted into the address bar of my browser. I can make the stream play within my browser, but the URL that shows up on my address bar when the stream is playing never seems to work when I save it as a favorite, or copy it to clipboard and then try to open it by pasting it on to my address bar. Anyone ever monkeyed around with this and had success?

Hi Grumpy Dave,

You don't sound so grumpy today--must be this festive time of year--with all it's current shortcomings notwithstanding. In any case, I remember talking to Jim Kitchen. I called him at his suburban Cleveland Ohio home after I download his DOS program that he mysteriously entitled 'a nifty little3 DOS program.' When you ran it You got a prompt saying something like: 'This program will reformat your entire hard drive.' No matter what you replied yes or no, it replied with: 'reformatting in progress, 10% 20% 50%' and so on. At the end of the process. It said 'task complete.' and then was silent. I had to do a double take and run some DOS commands just to make sure the program really didn't reformat my hard drive. It was at that point that I called him and when he answered, I laughingly said: 'Jim Kitchen, you have too much time on your hands. That is a pretty bizarre trick with that nifty little DOS program.' He burst out laughing and said: 'But do you like my games?' I said oh yes.' He said, well then I guess you have to take the good with the bad then.' And he laughed and I laughed and we discussed other aspects of the games he created. He was sure a character--in a humorous and affectionate way wasn't he?
