You didn't say which video health program will be used. Some video health programs require that Pop-up blockers be disabled, in order to allow separate windows to open.

So it was useless in terms of telling me whether my messag had reached the list.

But none of this matters if you use Groups.io lists and a lot of e-mail lists have migrated there, or here, since we are using it on this list. GMail has no command to allow you to receive list mail. Groups.io has a command to circumvent GMail's not sending you your own list mail. It has been on by default for a long time. So, given the number of groups on Groups.io now, this may not be much problem anymore for a lot of blind e-mail list users or a minor one.

Oh and to also receive your own replies in your inbox, there is a setting on the groups.io website that needs to be changed. If you want, I can walk you through that as well as send you a automatic login link that way that you can go onto Jessie's settings or if you wish for me to do it for you, I could go off-line with you, and login to your Gmail and fix the problem for you if you would like. And I will by and if you don't feel comfortable with me doing it, if you want to give me your computer guys phone number that helps you out all the time, I can give him the steps and he can fix it for you if you would like. Because I know you've been going through a lot here lately.no means give anybody any of your information.

There is a setting in the web interface to change the behavior as well.

You have to pay for Fast Mail, but not with GMail. GMail works very well
and you can use it with e-mail programs. It may be that Fast Mail has
features some people may want but I don't think the typical e-mail user
would want them.

Hi Marie,

This is exactly why I ditched Charter and went to Fastmail for all my email
groups, . It seems that Charter will throttle down your email if you
receive / send too much email, but I could never get Charter / Spectrum to
admit to this and someone else on this list posted something to the effect
this would happen after a certain number of emails per month. Well whatever
the problem with Charter is, I have absolutely zero problems with Fastmail.
Another problem I had with Charter was boucing email with Groups.io which is
something I have zero problems using Fastmail.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers!

Hi Brian,

Thank you, Thank you!  For whatever reason when I was selecting the, Open a specific page or set of pages, radio button it wasn't sticking, but now I've got the setting to stay and Edge is now closing as expected.

Mike,

I suggest checking Edge Settings.  Specifically:

1. ALT+F,S open Edge menu, Settings.

2. In Settings tab, navigate to the "On Startup" item, and check to see whether you have either the "Continue where you left off" or "Open a specific page or set of pages" radio button selected.  If you have the former, when you exit Edge the next time you start it all tabs and windows that were open when you shut it down will open again. If the latter, all the pages you've listed will open, but it should all be in one window.

There is no setting as there used to be in the past to control whether a link opens in the current tab, a new tab, or a new window, because all of this can be controlled at the time of link activation and the developer can set what they want as the default, but you have the power to override that by how you activate it.  A straight activation will do whatever the developer set, and that's most often either opening in the current tab or opening in a new window.  Hold down Control+Enter to force the link to open in a new tab in the same browser window you're in.  Hold down Shift+Enter to force the link to open in a new browser window, separate from all other browser Windows.

I would also encourage you, with any browser, to stop using ALT+F4 to exit it if you want to exit all windows it might have open in one fell swoop.  ALT+F4 closes the window that is currently active, but if you have 10 Edge windows open it won't close the other 9.  Using ALT+F,C when in Edge, closes Edge.  Every window that Edge has open will close if you use ALT+F,C in any given Edge window that has focus.  This works similarly in all Chromium-based browsers, though what comes after the ALT+F part varies.  It's C in Edge,  and X in Chrome & Brave & Vivaldi.  Microsoft always has to be slightly different!

MS Edge and Too Many Open Pages

Mike B.

Hi All,

Running MS EDGE with the most current version of Windows 10 Pro and latest Jaws.

When I open Edge and then want to close it I have to press, Alt + F4, several times to close Edge completely

It seems like any little thing I do opens a new screen, tab or window.

How or what do I need to change so I have only my Homepage open when I open Edge?

And, when I press enter or shift + enter on a link, what setting needs to be changed so only 1 tab, screen or window opens?

I know how to go back and close screens, but like I mentioned, any little thing seems to open a new screen, tab or window.

I have it on a family member I pad, I have been playing With it ffor a few days now .the app looks very promising compared to near by explorer on line.we will se how well it develops and how much of the near by explorer on line code is in good maps explore. I don’t know why the app is called good maps explore but when its installed on the device the icon says explore instead. I would think that the app would have the same name once it was installed on the device. I think that will cause even more confusion, when more people have a chance to take for a test drive on either platform.

Re: re GPS apps for mobile both platforms android and i OS

Wendy Walker

In the Apple app store the GoodMaps Explore is the one that is free
and for the visually impaired. After you download it the icon on your
phone just lists the app as Explore. There is one listed as GoodMaps
for 1.99 but it is not for the blind. I haven't had a chance to try it
out very much yet but it seems like a good source of information.
Thanks for the tip.

If someone answers a question sent to a group, then you'll see it, likely with that original message bottom quoted if it's a blind-centric group.

I just don't get why there's this belief that you can't trust email list services to send messages you send to groups to which you're subscribed out to the group.  I think I've had a couple of "burps" over a period of decades.  That's not worth worrying about.
