The only brand new victor Reader Stream being sold is the Victor Reader Stream 2nd Gen also called latest or newest gen. The other portable Humanware book reader is the Victor Reader Trek which is its own device, not the next Stream or anything like that, has the GPS and the above described Stream bundled together in one device hence the higher price. I hope that helps. Stay well, Laz

A couple of points to consider to get the most bang for your buck... We don't charge you to activate your phone. You pay for your phone plan and we activate it for you before we send it out to you. The most affordable plan we offer is just $25.99 and includes unlimited calls and texts and 3GB of data a high speed. However if you sign up for auto refill you get a discount of anywhere from a couple of dollars to $5 off your monthly plan. The higher cost plans just provide you with more GB of high speed data. We provide the direct link to that tutorial from Mystic Access as well as the download link to the Blindshell Classic manual. We install both the SIM card and the battery for you. As may have already been stated, we will replace your phone to help you avoid any hassles of having to send it anywhere out of the country for repairs. Regards, Laz

You can absolutely do this. You can just copy the upgrade assistant executible, but you do need an active internet connection to perform the upgrade.

Playing an mp3 during a Skype call
Norma A. Boge
Hi group,
I’m on Windows 10 with current Jaws and Skype 8.5. I have followed steps on getting a sound file to play during a Skype call. Unfortunately, it is not working for me. If anyone has ideas on what I should double check, or other steps to accomplish this, I would appreciate it.
Thank you, Norma

Monte Single
Yes, the Victor Stream second generation is the same as the new generation victor stream. The victor stream trek is the same as the second gen with the trek added on.

I was going to order the VR Stream I had that had podcast downloading capability and the ability to download books from Bard. It also has Internet Radio and Audible--several things I know first generation didn't have. So I hear it referred to as second or third generation, but recently I see it called New Generation. I don't want the Trek; it would be the one they came out with before VR Trek. Thanks for clarification.

Re: BlindShell Classic
Gerald Levy
Is there a compelling reason why you meed this phone right now? If you are not comfortable installing the battery and sync card yourself, I suggest waiting until the health crisis is over so that you can visit a phone store or Best Buy store in person and have them do it for you. Before you order this phone from Mystic Access, contact them and ask them whether they are willing to take care of warranty repairs and service, like Laz Mesa is willing to do. If they give you a run around, tell them to take a hike, and order the phone from Laz for the same price. The fact that he is willing to go the extra mile for his customers speaks volumes about his integrity and helpfulness. Other blind-products merchants may also sell you this phone, but if you have a problem they may leave you in the lurch to fend for yourself. The warranty is very vague about obtaining repairs. Keep in mind that the BlindShell is manufactured overseas in the Czech Republic, so if you have a problem with it and you have to return it to them yourself, you may not see it again for a very long time, if at all, given the current international health crisis. Re: BlindShell Classic
Abbie Taylor
I'm also considering purchasing the Blind Shell Classic phone. Mystic Access now offers a free tutorial that can be downloaded from their site at http://www.mysticaccess.com. You'll need to search for the product, and you'll find the link to download the tutorial on the product page. They also did a free class in February on the subject, and you'll find a recording of that on the free downloads page.
Mystic Access is now distributing the phone. What's more, for an extra $19 set-up fee, they'll activate the phone with a network that uses the A T and T tower. This network only charges $20 a month for unlimited talking and texting and 1 gig of data. The down side is that you have to install the battery and sim card, which is something I've never done with a cell phone, and I'm not particularly mechanically inclined. Otherwise, it's a good deal.

Hi, Heather.
I went to the rent cafe site using NVDA and Chrome and it looks accessible.
It's much more accessible than the one my complex is using. It's a realpage.com site and I can't get it to list any links even though I can tab around and hear things being listed as links.
Using arrow keys or the NVDA command to list links does nothing, but I can tab to a link and use the enter key to activate the link.
Good luck.

Re: bluetooth keyboard for use with smart phone?
Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc.
Hello Keith S.:
In truth, I have not read up much on neuropathy in the fingers. I ought to though, especially since I am in the DME business line where keeping up with the CONSTANT CHANGING RULES has become nightmarish for me and several chaps in the business. Back to the bluetooth keyboard thingie; the keys may be CRAMPED TOGETHER somewhat, but I've HAD NO PROBLEMS typing and navigating on My Shiny Android toys using it. Granted, I only use it when the need to TYPE REAL LONG TEXTS become necessary. The keys do have to be cramped together somewhat to allow for the trifold methinks! That said, based on the info you shared in your post, I'll suggest you take a hard look at the Logitech line. The K380, K480, and a few others are popular amongst blind bluetooth keyboard users. Matias bluetooth keyboard is also popular, does cost a tad more. The RiVo2 is yet another; many iOS enthusiasts run with this one, but it is my understanding that it does work with Android toys as well. It specifically designed for use by the blind, looks like LS&S Group has it, and Devine Medical sells it through amazon.com/ If memory serves, it does cost well over $300xx; not sure you want to SHELL OUT that much on a bluetooth keyboard. I'll defer to others to FILL IN THE MISSING BLANKS with respect to the Logitech offerings; my last rendezvous with a Logitech bluetooth keyboard caused me to acquire one that DIDN'T FOLD and also required me to type in a paring code which I've never had to do with any other bluetooth keyboard I play ball with. So, I gave it away to an international student I mentor. Good luck, and I hope you'll find something you can play with; may be when the lockdowns are lifted, you could take a trip to a nearby computer store and play with a few bluetooth keyboards before purchasing one. Sincerely, Olusegun Denver, Colorado

Re: Reading Kindle books with JAWS or NVDA.
Dave
Hello,
I use both Jaws and NVDA while reading Kendal Books. Now with that being said, there are some Books that are not made the same, and those either will not read at all, or Kendal itself will use a Voice, a not very good voice, to read the Book. I have not yet figured out what to do about those books that either do not read at all, or Kendal reads it with it own voice. maybe the folks at Amazon's Customer Service for those with Disabilities can help. As slim as the Chances of this happening, it never hurts to give it a try.

Steps for doing more quicker: Press Alt+O for format menu, and arrow down, or press letter f for font then enter. Tab until you here file size, and adjust by typing the size you want, or arrow keys to choose.
