Hi,

You can also do NVDA shift d to cyle through the audio ducking options. I don't think this works on the latest version though, since I'm primarily a mac user.

Hay does anyone know how to make NVDA not announce page breaks? I went threw all the settings and tried to turn this feature off. When I am reading a book, I don’t want to here “page break…page break. I would love to NVDA full time but, the page break issues when I am reading turns me off; it is really annoying to me! Hello, If you do a NVDA plus Control plus s this will bring up the choose synthesizer dialog. If you tab past the list of synths you will find where you can turn audio ducking on or off.

Okay, since no one seems to understand that I want
exactly what I asked for, access to system volume information, let me try again
and show you the instructions I have which have always worked
before.
I need access to the system volume information
folder. First I show protected files and folders which works fine. Then I use
the following instructions and get an access is denied message, even though I am
doing it as an administrator. Here are the directions, which, as I said, have
always worked before.
Instructions:
Using CACLS with Windows XP Home Edition Using the
NTFS File System
In Windows XP Home Edition with the NTFS file system, you can also use the Cacls tool, which is a command-line tool, to display or modify file or folder access control lists (ACLs). For more information about the Cacls tool, including usage and switches, search the Help and Support Center for "cacls." List of 5 items 1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. 2. Make sure that you are in the root folder of the partition for which you want to gain access to the System Volume Information folder. For example, to gain access the C:\System Volume Information folder, make sure that you are in the root folder of drive C (at a "C:\" prompt). To check this, once you have typed cmd and pressed enter, then type cd\ and press enter again. 3. Type the following line, and then press ENTER: cacls "driveletter:\System Volume Information" /E
/G username:F
Make sure to type the quotation marks as indicated. This command adds the specified user to the folder with Full Control permissions. 4. Double-click the System Volume Information folder in the root folder to open it. 5. If you need to remove the permissions after troubleshooting, type the following line at a command prompt: cacls "driveletter:\System Volume Information" /E
/R username
This command removes all permissions for the specified user. list end

Version 3.1.1 is, in many ways, a step backward. You get almost no feedback about downloads in progress, so it's hard to know whether a download is taking place or not. You might try the following: Open Pontes Media Downloader 3.1.1. Press ctrl plus u to update the download engine. Click the ok button when the update finishes and try your download again. Hth, George

Hi all,

If you mean is it possible for someone who is blind or VI to put together a robot, that depends on a lot of stuff. First, how techie is the person? A good deal of knowledge about electronics and the bits and parts of a computer is assumed e.g. circuit boards and the like and how they fit together. Second this assumes that the instructions are in an accessible format. You wouldn't want to put together a robot unless you had the instructions in an accessible format. Third, is it possible for the person to distinguish one part from another? In a robot, one might assume the parts are numbered e.g. 1 goes into 2 which is connected to 3 by the silver wire; 3 is placed into the socket on 4 that is labeled with the letter X. This am detailed work in the extreme. If all the parts are clearly labeled in an accessible way, then this is possible. Bottom line, yes, if conditions are met. Ann P. Original message:

I realize that many people don't know this so I
take no action at first. But a repeated pattern of abuse by the same
person will result in action such as being placed on moderated

This is an illegal program. No legal version
of Eloquence is free. Discussion of illegal software that encourages or
helps with its use isn't allowed on the list. As I interpret the
situation, those who want to point out the danger of a certain piece of illegal
software, such as that it includes a Trojan, would seem to me to be
alright.
It doesn't matter what my personal view is on the
subject, nor that of other list owners. List owners who want to protect
their lists legally don't allow such discussion. A list may be closed down
for allowing such discussion if the owners of a list serve discover that such
discussion is allowed. It places them at legal liability from the owner of
the software being discussed.

Re: Pontes Media Downloaded Issue
Gene
I never liked the recent versions of Pontes Media
downloader. I don't know why this was done, but a built in version of JAVA
was used and the interface gives you less information about downloads and
conversions. I don't just want to know that a download is in
progress. It is customary to do what the old versions did, give a
percentage and tell you if it is of a download or of a conversion.
I don't know if this is true of other formats, but
older versions have a serious design problem for those wanting to download and
convert to MP3. You don't get a choice as to the conversion parameters,
and those used are not those serious music listeners would use, that is, those
who care about sound quality.
Therefore, I download as wave, then I use a
conversion program to convert to MP3. I use switch.
