Hi Penny,

The easiest way is to open the "run" dialogue with Windows key R, and then type the following and press enter: C: notice that there is a colon after the letter C. When this opens, you will be on the C drive of your computer, then look for program files (x86). If this folder is there, you have a 64-bit system, if not, it is 32-bit. HTH, Rick

Re: Low-Cost Braille Displays
Josh Kennedy
Well if I were forced to choose as of right now I would choose the orbit reader20. That is because it has jaws support and it does not depend on an addon to make it work with NVDA. But I really really wish they will fix the small bugs and issues I have with the braille me, with firmware fixes or updates because when and if they do that, the braille me will then be my preferred display! But as of now I prefer the orbit because its firmware and screen reader support are more developed overall.

Re: win 7 mystery message
Monte Single
No, nvda announces there is an update available and gives a “remind me later” option. Nvda does not say “click here, help balloon.” This started weeks before the new nvda wa released. Thanks for your suggestion.

Know it is the update for NVDA. You can turn it off in the nvda settings preferences under general arrow down and uncheck check for updates. Cheers Heather

Hi List,
Running win 7 desktop with nvda and chrome. Recently I get a frequent pop up, at least every half hour. Nvda says,
“new version available, click here for more info. Help balloon.”
How do I click the help balloon? Is this a win 7 message?
Thanks,
Monte

I should point out that unchecky is a utility that
limits your exposure to potentially unwanted programs. The way I worded my
previous message may imply that unchecky increases your exposure.

Whatever the case, that is as important to discuss

bytes I'm running the paid version of malware bytes 4.0.4 and the latest scan found 24 problems in the form of possibly unwanted programs. How do I quarentine them? As I tab through there's a checkbox for each that the latest jaws 2019 identifies, do I have to go through and check each one individually before a quarentine button shows? Btw I'm running windows 10, I think version 1809. Thanks. Troy

I have no idea. I need to see if I have unchecky installed, I know
I've used it before but maybe that was on my previous laptop. I need
to see if it's installed on this one.

Re: Is it possible to permanently maximize windows
Ron Canazzi
Hi Terrylynn,
In addition to the program referenced in earlier posts, you can also have a program like your browser or favorite text editor or word processor launch maximized by creating a desktop shortcut--if it doesn't already exist, and then highlighting the shortcut, right clicking on it and choosing properties and then under the shortcut tab of properties, tab to the combo box that says: 'run: and using the up/down arrow keys to choose maximized. Then tab to OK and press space bar or enter to save the changes. With browsers and Microsoft Word and Notepad, I have done this and they always launched with the window maximized. Nokia 3310 Inquiry
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
A friend of mine wants a no frills standard old fashion cell phone. She is thinking of purchasing a Nokia model 3310 phone. Is anyone familiar with this phone and if so, can it be used with Spectrum Mobile service? The guy at tech support for Spectrum Mobile says that he couldn't say whether or not the phone could be used unless he cold see the code on the back of the phone. Does anyone know what he means? Thanks in advance for any help. -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. They ask: "How Happy are You?" I Say: "I'm as happy as a stow away chimpanzee on a banana boat!"
