Re: Low-Cost Braille Displays
Josh Kennedy
On the braille me, the cursor works by blinking the unused dots in the cell. For example, if the cursor is on the letter b, dots 1-2, then dots 1-2 stay raised up while dots 3-4-5-6 are blinking. Or you can turn off the blinking, clear the display temporarily and show only the cursor, when you are done looking at the cursor, press backspace plus space together to get out of that mode. And yes I find the braille me to be very very user friendly.

So my insureance was able to justify it for me. If you are a primary braille user and you have been tested by a rehab specialist and you need something like this, it is covered by insureance as a medical device. Hi am not to pleased with this thing and have not even used it yet. I really wish there was a e-mail to send my complaint too! So this is for the blind person who reads braille and they cant even be bothered to include a braille product guide to the unit! They are to lazy to emboss the serial number on the back of the unit however, the serial number is in print and the manual is in print too. So the catch was when I called to ask where the braille guide was, they in there infinite wisdom asked me the blind user for a serial number. So I am not lazy so I had to pull out my app off my phone to see if it could read it. Apparently it was written on a shiny area on the back and I could not get my app to capture the serial number or the lighting was off who knows. So if you can put braille on the unit all over, why the heck cant you emboss the serial number too. I am blind not stupid I do not need it to say six dot all over the unit once was enough. So Who are the morons who provide braille items and still expect you to have sighted assistance in 2020? I am glad I did not purchase this thing, it was given to me as a medical device! A device I still cant use yet as I have to wait for snail male to get my embossed braille guide. Sie! Heather

Copy and paste works in Outlook in later versions and it probably will there.
Copy the file, as though you were going to paste it in another location. Open the message. I don't know if it matters where you are in the message when you issue the paste command. Be in the message body. I expect it to work there because it does in Windows Live Mail. Paste and the attachment will likely be added to the message, if this procedure works that far back.

Re: Sending Attachments with Outlook 2007

Hi another way is, when in the message go to the menu bar and find the insert menu. The first option is include submenu (at least on my version) then the first option is file. It will then open a dialog box which is the same as if you were opening a file in the word processer. So you go through and find the file you want to attach and hit entre on it. It should then be attached.
As you can see there are a number of different ways to get the same thing done. It just all depends on which is the easiest for the person to understand.
Bye for now. From Shaz. Canberra, Australia.

Re: Sending Attachments with Outlook 2007
Smiling?
This works in all versions of Outlook.
Outlook Sending Attachments: 1. Just copy whatever file or files to your clipboard that you are interested in sending as attachments (your ISP will most likely limit it to a maximum of right around 25MB). 2. With focus in the body of the new email, reply, or forward that you are interested in sending/sharing, simply paste these files or single file and these will now be attached as attachments for you to send/share (simply just Shift+Tab to check and verify).

I think Heather is asking why she can't use Eloquence from Jaws with NVDA (given the thread is about NVDA 2019.3?)
If that is the question, the reason is because of the license Jaws is distributed with. Eloquence is only licensed for use with Jaws.
In that respect, it's much like saying, I have a copy of MIcrosoft Office, why can't I use the spell check feature from Word in Libre Office writer? Aside from any technical limitations, I'm pretty sure Microsoft's license for Office wouldn't allow it.
If you definitely want Eloquence, you can get a license for it for NVDA from Code Factory: https://codefactoryglobal.com/app-store/voices-for-nvda/
We have added Rate Boost for Windows OneCore voices (included in Windows 10) so it is worth trying those if you have Windows 10. The OneCore voices are about the most natural I've heard. There are also paid synthesizers you can buy, as well as Eloquence: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/wiki/ExtraVoices
Kind regards

Re: NVDA 19.3
Gene
I'm not sure what you are asking. JAWS has
Eloquence as one of its bumdled synthesizers. You are using the same
synthesizer with JAWS. FS has made modifications that change the sound a
bit, it is less harsh on the high end and they have adopted the inexcusable
practice of not having the bundled Eloquence pause at periods, but its still
using Eloquence.
I'm not sure what paid program you are referring
to. If you purchased the SAPI 5 Eloquence, you could use it with JAWS,
because JAWS supports SAPI 5 synthesizers. SAPI 5 is a Microsoft API,
application program interface, that allows synthesizers equipped with it to work
with programs that support SAPI5.
