question about a new internal drive

heather albright

Well the man upstairs likes to try my patience I gather as I got the blue screen this morning off my desktop. But, I was finally able to get in to windows, I guess I just will not shut down my pc for the time being. So I am looking in to another internal c drive to replace this 1, it is about seven years old. So do the internal drives come with a bracket with the drive? I am asking as I know the newer drives maybe smaller than my old drive. The drive just slides in to my pc I think it has 2 screws that hold it in in the top bay of my desktop casing. My computer desktop already has wires to give power to the drive. Thanks Heather

While I don’t know what the problem is, is this a general problem or just on this site?  Have you tried another browser?

We have comcast internet...and I have good download speeds...but getting
to the links because of the hesitancy to get to the page with the links
just stickks and in many cases will not let me get to the place where I
can enter on the various links...but in some cases when I enter directly
on the link without having to go to another page, the download is
lightning fast.

Re: gmail notification

Thomas N. Chan

If you are referring to just  notification, if you enable it in gmail itself, it will push the info to your screen reader of your choice saying like, you have an email or something.
but that will work if you did enable the notification on your web browser.

Nadison,

If you know which groups you posted in you can search each group for your name & all of your post within the group that you are currently searching will be displayed. I use the Facebook mobile app & the search box for each group is at the very top of each group page. I hope the search box is visible when using Facebook on a computer. Would what you are searching for have been posted in blind specific groups on Facebook? I seem to recall seeing your name in some blind groups. If so, if you want to share with me the group names, I will help you search.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there's any way to search for a specific
reply/comment to something that I posted back at the end of October
2020? I posted this to a few different groups and I don't remember
which one this comment/reply was posted too, nor do I remember the
responder's name. I know I could go through old posts, but there's
been a lot of posts on these groups since so it'd take me forever, so
it'd be really grate if I could just search for the specific thing
that I'm looking for. Using latest Jaws, Windows 10 and firefox.
Thanks Madison

iPhone Losing Speech Settings

Hello all, my iPhone is behaving oddly.  I always shut it down over night, and I have it set on Siri male South African English.  However, when I start it up again in the morning, it comes up with the Tessa voice in South African English, which I don’t like, and all my other Siri male voices have gone too.  I have to redownload the South African Siri male voice, and the other voices then come back.  Does anyone know why this is happening?  I’m using an iPhone 6S with the latest IOS.

Try shift delete.  I believe I tried both and shift delete may have worked.  I tried this a good while ago and my  memory may not be correct or complete.  I have no idea if shift control d will do the same thing so use the real delete key, though you can experiment, of course.

I have installed Thunderbird with my GMail account as Imap It shows I have 180 thousand emails. and while in the list of emails I do a control a to select all, then I do a controlD to delete, but I get no indicationm that either command did anything. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Re: Facebook question

Gene

It depends on how well you remember what you wrote in terms of looking for a specific word or phrase that wouldn’t have been used by writers in such a large number of messages that you would have a ridiculous number of results to look through.  If you remember such a word or phrase, the easiest way might be to do a search, a Google search or whatever search engine you are using.

Most groups allow their messages to be seen by nonmembers in the archives.  If you are looking for messages you sent to groups.io groups and not to other lists, you could write whatever you are going to search for followed by groups.io.  That’s groups then period followed by io no spaces since you are writing part of a web address.
