Windows software to change volume of batch of .mp3 files

Gene Warner <genewarner3@...>

The field with 89 in it is the target db you want your files changed to. 89 is the default value because that is the maximum db level you can use and be reasonably sure that there will be no clipping when it is played back.

I believe that the other field with the 0 in it is a percent of change you want applied, so something like -50% would cut the volume in half. I never use that field so I don't really know what it does. There is a help file, it might have that information.

Good luck! And don't hesitate to ask any other questions you might have. I don't use MP3Gain all that much, but I'll try to help as much as I can.

Hello Gene
Thanks much. Just one question: I notice that the "target" field has a
default of 89, so is that a percentage of db below 0 db? the next
field has a default of 0 and if I change that the target value also
changes. I am not sure what this value means.

Hello list

I tried levellator but it is not accessible with JAWS and GoldWave does
not allow me to specify a specific DB number. Can anyone please suggest
an alternative.
