Finereader 16?

But another aspect is if I go with a subscription it gets continuous upgrades and improvement to OCR, so the differences between my version and latest will keep getting larger and larger as time goes by.

Yes as long as you know the new version will do the things you want yeah I'd go for it. it's too bad there wasn't some way you could try the software first like download a demo and try it on credit cards and other things you know you need more accurate scanning for and see if it would work before you had to pay. |

I do want to upgrade to be honest. New version is natively 64 bit, better OCR is always better. I have issues when scanning things like IDs, credit cards where finereader won't scan those. I think those are acceptable reasons to upgrade, even though ordinary letter scanning is OK. |

I've read that open book is no longer being upgraded or supported so doubt the new version of fine reader would be added to it. Kurzweil is still being supported I think at least it was last year and I haven't heard anything about it no longer being. I don't know if the latest version of the fine reader has been added to it yet or not.

I wonder if Kurzweil users have seen that improvement. I think Kurzweil has more frequent upgrades than Openbook but I'd be curious if Openbook users have seen a significant difference. |

I don't do much OCR anymore and I haven't followed the programs. Gene On 11/7/2022 8:29 PM, enes sarıbaş wrote:
It was very major. There were medical records I tried doing OCR, and it picked up whole areas of letters in 14 that were skipped with 12. |

It has indeed. There was a big jump in recognition performance from version 12 to version 14 of finereader for example. On 11/7/2022 5:53 PM, Gene wrote:

Haven't heard but if the current version is working well for you then it might not be necessary to upgrade. If you're having problems with critical things that aren't being read accurately or something then it might be different. I also am interested in knowing about the accessibility though too so hope someone will chime in who knows. |

For me it doesn't matter if the program is accessible or not because I do not do software by subscription if I can avoid it.

Hi all,
So Finereader 16 is out. Does anyone know if the new interface is accessible, and if it is worth upgrading the lisence to the yearly? Enes |
