Hi. There's a list called Phones For The Blind that has discussion about both Android and iOS. There's also people who have used both platforms and who have switched from one to another for various reasons.

About talkback, once talkback is started for you and with many phone models that's how that has to be you go into talkback lessons. Do those lessons and you'll have a start. National Braille Press also sells books on android and talkback. Everybody who is about to buy a cell phone needs to keep two dates in mind. First the phone's release date and second the phone's end of life date. If both have already passed, you buy an unsupported phone. If the first has passed, you may get updates until the end of life date rolls around. Most but not all android phones have a 2 year spread between release date and end of life date with google and samsung being exceptions with longer time windows So know those dates going into the store and buy wisely! Hi Dave, you may also go through this android Learning website, called Inclusive Android,which have many useful learning material, including podcast/audio and text based tutorials. I use both android and IiOS platforms, and have learnt to use my pixel android device, quite well, from inclusive android, with help from the blind android list as well.Take care
