With all due respect, that was caused by one

People weren't bickering about who can help the
best. One member of the list insulted other list members repeatedly.
If the list had been properly moderated, the insulting conduct would have been
stopped immediately. As one member who was repeatedly insulted and talked
down to by the member, I resent your characterization. I did not bicker
and whine. If someone publicly talks down to me on a list or states that I
am providing dangerous solutions to problems when they are not,I am going to
publicly defend myself and others have the right to do so as well. And
it's not just a question of people defending themselves. New members come
to lists all the time. If someone inaccurately disparages another members
advice, indicating that is dangerous or inadequate when it is not, then the
person who is disparaged should have the right to defend their answers so that
new list members won't form erroneous opinions about who is giving good
advice.
This list, which will be properly moderated, should
not have any such problems.

someone inaccurately disparages another members advice, indicating that is
dangerous or inadequate when it is not, then the person who is disparaged
should have the right to defend their answers so that new list members won't
form erroneous opinions about who is giving good
advice.
This list, which will be properly moderated,
should not have any such problems.

Hi, well,
there is several ways you can do this install windows on the Mac.
One thru a
virtual windows and the other is thru boot camp . Which boot camp
is fairly like
just installing windows like on any hard drive. I
think I would prefer
boot camp to a virtual windows but it is a choice. Now if you
not going to
use this thing as your primary machine you might not want to
get the latest and
greatest . You might want to if thinking of a lap top go with the
Mac book air
the13 inch or the 11 inch. They also have brought back the mac book
as well so
that might be worth looking at. But all this being said this late in
the year I
think I would wait for the new ones to come out. JST !
First, greetings
to you all here in the new list and a lot of thanks to Carlos,
who helps all

I’m using for
fourteen years or so the system operation of Microsoft.
Now, I use Win
7 pro and think to upgrade it – when Jaws 17 is out, soon.
I’ve two
laptops, one is 8 years and the other one is five years
old.
I think to
start now using the laptop of Apple and as I do understand –
I’mtalking
about MACBOOK PRO.
I really
wish to get your thoughts, your experience with that machine.
which one do I
have to purchase and any other helpful information.
I’ve read about
it but really don’t have any experience and the world and the
way Apple acts
with its systems.
Again, I do
understand that it is a very general question but any information,
any experience
will be greatly appreciated.
I’m totally
blind and use Braille Display and it’s a very important point
for me.
I also know
that I can install the system of Microsoft on these machine
of Apple and wish
to know how really this works.

And

I spoke up for both Carlos and Gene at the time they were being attacked on the BlindTech list by the free tech guy, which was all I as just a list member could do at the time. Now that I've been made a moderator on that list I can assure you that as soon as I see that type of attack directed at anyone on the list, it shall be dealt with. I have no idea who was moderating the list at the time those attacks took place but obviously they weren't paying attention to what was happening on the list. I had also seen other issues on the list in the past that should have been handled by a moderator but for whatever reason weren't.
Mike and I will be getting together shortly to sort out any list rules issues, but Mike has told me that he does want to make the BlindTech list friendlier to the list members.

living? I personally don’t have a Mac yet been putting it off for
ever. But I think I will be getting my first very soon. As soon as
they put out the new ones and I sort of leaning toward a Mac mini
possible a Mac Air . It is not going to be a work computer or even
my main computer .but something to learn and play around

I wrote to
this list in order to get more explanation about the real difference

I do hope

Hi, well, there is several ways you can do this install windows
on the Mac. One thru a virtual windows and the other is thru boot camp ... Which
boot camp is fairly like just installing windows like on any hard
drive. I think I would prefer boot camp to a virtual windows but it is a choice.
Now if you not going to use this thing as your primary machine you might not want
to get the latest and greatest . You might want to if thinking of a lap top go
with the Mac book air the13 inch or the 11 inch. They also have brought back
the mac book as well so that might be worth looking at. But all this being said
this late in the year I think I would wait for the new ones to come out.

First, greetings to you all here in the new list and a lot of
thanks to Carlos, who helps all of us everywhere.
I’m using for fourteen years or so the system operation
of Microsoft.
Now, I
use Win 7 pro and think to upgrade it – when Jaws 17 is
out, soon.
I’ve two laptops, one is 8 years and the other one is five years
old.
I think to start now using the laptop of Apple and as I do
understand – I’mtalking about MACBOOK PRO.
I really wish to get your thoughts, your experience with
that machine.
which one do I have to purchase and any other helpful
information.
I’ve read about it but really don’t have any experience and the
world and the way Apple acts with its systems.
Again, I
do understand that it is a very general question but any
information, any experience will be greatly appreciated.
I’m totally blind and use Braille Display and it’s a very
important point for me.
I also know that I can install the system of Microsoft on
these machine of Apple and wish to know how really this works.

People weren't bickering about who can help the
best. One member of the list insulted other list members
repeatedly. If the list had been properly moderated, the insulting
conduct would have been stopped immediately. As one member who was
repeatedly insulted and talked down to by the member, I resent your
characterization. I did not bicker and whine. If someone
publicly talks down to me on a list or states that I am providing dangerous
solutions to problems when they are not,I am going to publicly defend myself
and others have the right to do so as well. And it's not just a
question of people defending themselves. New members come to lists all
the time. If someone inaccurately disparages another members advice,
indicating that is dangerous or inadequate when it is not, then the person
who is disparaged should have the right to defend their answers so that new
list members won't form erroneous opinions about who is giving good
advice.
This list, which will be properly moderated,
should not have any such problems.

Hi, Well, if he finds it, and you ban him, I wouldn't be surprised if he would then begin to share all kinds of roomers about the list. But as long as its not found, he can't. Remember when he called you things front of all of us? Who knows what he would say about the list?

People weren't bickering about who can help the best. One member of the list insulted other list members repeatedly. If the list had been properly moderated, the insulting conduct would have been stopped immediately. As one member who was repeatedly insulted and talked down to by the member, I resent your characterization. I did not bicker and whine. If someone publicly talks down to me on a list or states that I am providing dangerous solutions to problems when they are not,I am going to publicly defend myself and others have the right to do so as well. And it's not just a question of people defending themselves. New members come to lists all the time. If someone inaccurately disparages another members advice, indicating that is dangerous or inadequate when it is not, then the person who is disparaged should have the right to defend their answers so that new list members won't form erroneous opinions about who is giving good advice.
This list, which will be properly moderated, should not have any such problems.

At this point, whether Joseph is a member is
probably largely irrelevant. The list has moved about four times in about
four years and lost a lot of members. It has been almost unmoderated for
quite sometime and as a result of no or very poor moderation, almost the entire
core of active members has become active here and largely inactive on
Blindtech. All they needed was a good alternative and now that one is
available, Blindtech is moribund. AS a
result, Blindtech currently has only about three or five messages a day.
Good moderation is not in my opinion, all that is necessary at this point.
good moderation and active promotion of the list is necessary. You may
want to actively promote it after good rules are in place. And promotion
may entail describing how the list has changed to try to begin rebuilding its
reputation.
