Tell Me, now Voice Info is back
Gene
I just checked after a long time to see what would happen when I called Voice Info, or Tell Me, both different names for the same thing, and its back.

I just checked, and Voice Info is indeed back. The toll-free number is 866-895-3124.

Gene, what are the numbers for these services? I'd like to share this info with other lists that I moderate.

Once again, the
toll-free phone number for Voice Info is 866-895-3124. Even the
cute little blackjack game still works. Try it for yourself.

It isn't toll free. These days, most people don't pay for long distance calls but if you do, you will pay whatever you pay for calling a number in that area code. And if you have a pay as you go cellular plan where you pay by the minute, you will be charged.

The weather forcast is a little off. I got a forcast that has to be for summer time since it was talking about temperatures in the uper 80s

Actually, it is a toll free number. 866 is in the list of area codes on this page.

The weather is using old information and isn't being updated. I don't know how old, but it may come from the summer or early fall, if not earlier. The top stories report is current. I haven't checked other information.

That's interesting. I had read information months ago that a toll free number was no longer used by Voice Info.

Excuse me? The number
for Voice Info is 866-895-3124, which is definitely toll-free,
and definitely up and working again. So if you call from a
land-line phone, there would be no charge. However, some of the
categories don't seem to be getting updated like weather and
sports, while other categories like business news and top
stories seem to be up to date. And the blackjack game, current
time and wake-up call options all seem to be working.

72 degrees and tomorrows high is supposed to be 89. Something is wacked
somewhere.

I noticed that a couple of weeks ago, but there is a crazy thing. It has temperatures listed in the 80s and 90s instead of what they really are. I'll have to check and see, now that you have sent this message. Pam.

Yes, apparently weather and sports information has not been updated since the summer. However, the news center and business news categories seem to be getting updated and are current.

I had the toll free number in my cellphone, and tried it, and it works. The only thing was the weird weather, which is still weird. It says it's 82 degrees, and it still thinks it's daylight savings time. It's really 52 degrees. So, when I first saw that, I thought they hadn't updated the site at all. But when I check other things, they are up-to-date. Pam.

I have noticed that a lot of numbers with the area code 866 and 800 are free of charge. However, we do have unlimited long distance with our land line and the phone bill is always the same each month, so I could be wrong about the area codes.
