Hi Shelly,

I got a bunch of those messages. But if you read any of the emails, a link is given which takes you to a page which shows what you missed. That page told me that I didn’t have a password, which I know was incorrect, but I just went through the process of entering on forgot my password, put in a new password, and things appear to be fine now.

Good luck,

TerriLynne

If people read the messages, they tell you exactlyu what to do. Follow the link. AsI recall, when you get to the web page you need do nothing else. Again, people should read the page. Once your delivery is suspended, you don't get mail from the lists, as the message says. So answering people on list who send messages to lists about what to do is useless. If you want to help, you must write to people off list. For those interested, we can discuss how to do this. This is an important thing to know.

I'll write to Shelly and tell her what to do.

Gene

That’s what I expected to see, also, because that’s what I used to see when yahoo would bounce messages.  But when I would enter on the unbounce link, I just saw their website.  I appear to be unbounced, though, but I don’t know if any of the other messages ever went out.  Pam.

Hi all,

this is perfectly clear. It's unequivical in fact. Do what it tells you to do! Your mail is bouncing because you probably have a gmail account. Gmail was down for several hours yesterday. Obviously, if it was down, groups.io couldn't send you any mail. It got rejected, bounced back. It says right here that if you go to the link you can fix it, so, like the old song says, "Well, fix it dear Henry".

Replying on line won't help those who are bounced because they won't see the message. If you are bounced, you can send mail to lists but you won't receive any. Those who want to help should write privately to those who appear to be bounced from what they write. If people need to know how to do that, we can discuss it here. it depends on your e-mail program but this is an important thing to know.

Lots of people do this. I want to take the moment to encourage people to learn to write privately to people if they don't know how. Toward that end, I'll explain later today, how to do this in Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird. As is so often the case, there is more than one way to do this in a lot of e-mail programs. Others may prefer other ways.

Here is how to reply to the sender using Windows Live Mail.
Open the message. Tab once. Then shift tab a number of times. You will get to a button that says contact's name then gives the name and address and then says right click to interact with this contact.
Open the context menu and you will find in the menu an item that says "Send message." Press enter and a new message with the address of the sender will open.

I was playing with this a bit and it appears that when the new message opens, you may be in the message body edit field. Try shift tabbing to the subject line.
Also, you may have to press enter twice. The first time may place you in a submenu and the second press of enter will open the message if you are placed in a submenu.

But neither of these things may happen. Just be aware that they may.

Here is one way to send a message privately in Thunderbird.

Open the message. Tab once. Shift tab perhaps six or seven times. You will get to a field that says from, then you hear the address and then submenu is spoken.
Open the context menu, down arrow to compose message to. Press enter and a message will open addressed to the [person who sent the message.
Some people may say you can simply be on the message in the message list, open the context menu, find the reply to sender and press enter. This is not reliable. it may work on some lists, depending on how they are set up, but it won't work on a lot of them. I gave a reliable method. I'm not saying it’s the only one but it is reliable and the other method is about the same in terms of efficiency.

Here is one way to send a message privately in Thunderbird.

Open the message. Tab once. Shift tab perhaps six or seven times. You
will get to a field that says from, then you hear the address and then
submenu is spoken.
Open the context menu, down arrow to compose message to. Press enter and a

message will open addressed to the [person who sent the message.
Some people may say you can simply be on the message in the message list,
open the context menu, find the reply to sender and press enter. This is
not reliable. it may work on some lists, depending on how they are set up,

but it won't work on a lot of them. I gave a reliable method. I'm not
saying it’s the only one but it is reliable and the other method is about
the same in terms of efficiency.

I was playing with this a bit and it appears that when the new message
opens, you may be in the message body edit field. Try shift tabbing to the
subject line.
Also, you may have to press enter twice. The first time may place you in a
submenu and the second press of enter will open the message if you are
placed in a submenu.

But neither of these things may happen. Just be aware that they may.

Here is how to reply to the sender using Windows Live Mail.
Open the message. Tab once. Then shift tab a number of times. You will
get
to a button that says contact's name then gives the name and address and
then says right click to interact with this contact.
Open the context menu and you will find in the menu an item that says "Send
message." Press enter and a new message with the address of the sender
will
open.

Lots of people do this. I want to take the moment to encourage people to
learn to write privately to people if they don't know how. Toward that
end,
I'll explain later today, how to do this in Windows Live Mail and
Thunderbird. As is so often the case, there is more than one way to do
this
in a lot of e-mail programs. Others may prefer other ways.

Hi all,

Right, my bad. Should have realized that. It's a "duh" moment. Sorry,

This is a major issue and is being talked about a lot on many groups.io groups, including GMF, the group.io Moderators Forum.
